Taste of the Sea

Comfortable, well-appointed with a superb location and views.

Well appointed and stocked kitchen, but kitchen knives extremely blunt (sharpener supplied but serrated knives so unable to be sharpened). No of can opener. These are very minor items in an otherwise very well appointed property.

Huge property, can easily fit 8 people. Spacious, clean, cozy. Easy to find and to get in. View is superb, can see the bay and sheep. excellent for family with kids.

internet wasn't working when we entered, figured out myself the cable was not connected. one toilet does not flush. The heating facility needs some instructions.

Great location, huge spaces and rooms, well equipped. Perfect for 2 families

We had a problem with 1 toilet, no quick assistance received, we worked around by ourself. The oven was dirty from previous guest.

Good quiet location overlooking Staffin beach. House was very clean. Beds comfortable.Bathrooms were great with good showers.The kitchen was well equipped with plenty, glasses, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans etc…and had the most beautiful large wooden table looked hand-made with a wooden bench and tall back chairs enough room to seat 8.

The lockbox for key was very stiff and had difficulty opening. There is no signage on house to identify that it is actually Taste of the Sea. We couldn’t find it at first as dark when we arrived so a sign at top of drive or on the house entrance would have been helpful. A doormat at entry points would be good. The Christmas tree could have had some lights but it was nice that there was one.

Great location for exploring The Old Man of Storr, An Corran beach and the Quiraing. Wonderful views, star gazing at night was amazing! The property was warm and we had plenty of space.

The mattress in the master bedroom wasn't great and based on the size of that room a king size bed would be a better option.

The house was very spacious, with ample room for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. All areas were clean and well maintained, we appreciated it having some homely touches, such as cushions and blankets. The kitchen table was excellent as it could fit all 7 of us comfortably and was a great setting for dinners. Having 3 young children with us, we appreciated having a smart tv in the house for those screen breaks to allow everyone to decompress from adventuring :) Hosts were very responsive - I reached out ahead of us travelling to ask whether it was possible to check in slightly earlier due to incoming storm and they replied late at night to let us know that would be ok - we really appreciated that. Location was brilliant as we stocked up with food before arriving and got anything else needed during our stay either on our trips out and about to Portree or at the local shop - it had more than enough selection. We had quick access to Quiraing, the dinosaur beach and museum, Fairy Glen, Kilt Rock, Man of Storr and more! We drove to Fairy Pools for about 1.5hrs, but it was easy access and the drive was enjoyable rather than a nuisance. Fabulous location!

Nothing - everything was great!

Location was quiet with a sea view. The lounge room was comfortable with a great sea view.

The dining table was very worn with uncomfortable chairs. The laneway to the property was narrow with a hedge overhanging. The mattresses and pillows were very uncomfortable.
