Thaprobana Villa Tangalle - Private Villa

It’s such a great place in the heart of Tangalle. When you walk through the gates you enter a little oasis. We were comfortable and relaxed we also loved the rooms and how spacious they are.

Everything was great. The villa is stunning, the location is great, the owner was fantastic. The WiFi throughout the property worked perfectly. We loved everything!

A short stone throw from Tangalle city's hectic hustle and bustle, but also the beach, you will find this oasis of tranquility and privacy. The pictures doesn't do the place justice. It has to be seen in real life! The layout of the villa, the tasteful interior, outdoor waterfall showers - all amazing. We loved every minute of our stay here and the host is also very nice. Thank you so much! For breakfast we recommend Café Saltbreeze nearby. For beaches we really liked Goyambokka beach, but also Silent beach, both a short tuk tuk ride from the villa. At Goyambokka beach you can get a fantastic full body massage at Eden restaurant and spa.

We enjoyed the convenience of having shops and restaurants on our doorstep. The villa felt like a little oasis in the centre of a bustling town. It was lovely to come back to the villa and swim in the pool as there aren’t really swimming beaches close by (the gorgeous unspoiled beaches 10 minutes drive by tuk tuk are too dangerous for swimming and the local swimming beach is very busy with locals during the day).The villa was very clean and well designed: cleverly screened from the surrounding apartment blocks so you don’t feel overlooked. The fish pond made the villa garden seem cool and we enjoyed feeding the fish! Our host Tharuka was charming and went out of his way to be helpful. The washing machine was a real bonus as we needed to do laundry at this stage of our trip.

We didn’t feel that the Villa description made it clear that the communal areas (sitting and dining areas and kitchen) are all open air. Only the bedrooms are enclosed. We had hoped to make simple meals a couple of nights but, although the kitchen was well equipped there were always tiny flies (and mosquitoes at night) around which put us off cooking. It was fine for preparing breakfasts. Tharuka provided mosquito coils which helped clear the flies but we didn’t really want to spend time in the kitchen preparing meals breathing in the smoke. The fridge was great for storing drinks etc. There isn’t a lot of outside space so it was comfortable for us as a couple but might feel cramped if all the bedrooms are in use.

Magnifique villa à deux pas du centre et de la plage mais 100% au calme ! Tout est fait pour vous faire passer un bon séjour, mention spéciale pour les douches des salles de bain :)

Beautiful villa where we felt like home and took it really easy during one month of Sri Lanka. Perfect location and most welcoming host. Even better than the pictures show. Would highly recommend staying here!

Our stay at this villa was absolutely exceptional! The place is stunning – spacious, beautifully decorated, with a breathtaking view and a wonderful pool that was perfect for relaxing. The villa is well-equipped, spotless, and very well-maintained. The biggest highlight was the host – incredibly kind, helpful, welcoming, and attentive. Thanks to him, we truly felt at home. This place exceeded our expectations in every way. We would love to come back again! Highly recommended!
