Villa Nilnara

Villa Nilnara was a great place to stay. The location was super clean and comfortable. The food was super nice! We had fresh fish with a nice and fresh salad. Also the variety of the breakfast was nice (local or international breakfast). Every day we were asked about the timing when we want to have breakfast and dinner and the staff was super flexible. The accommodation is located directly at a really nice beach. Which is super empty because there are almost no neighbors or tourist accommodations around. The “garden” and the pool offers enough space for everyone to have private and quiet time. Above all the staff was really friendly and helpful. Once our WiFi was broken and they arranged someone to come to fix it immediately. They also arranged a scooter. Everyone made us feel very welcome.

Food is pricey but worth it.

Absolutely loved my stay here! The villa is right on the beach, offering the most stunning views from the spacious rooms .It’s incredibly peaceful, perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The food was exceptional—fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing beachfront vacation!it's truly worth for every Penney.

Room and balcony were lovely for relaxing. The beach was beautiful though the sea a little rough for swimming.

Some information on arrival would be useful... meal times, currency exchange, local bars and restaurants, atm etc

Perfect location if you want to be in a secluded area and right next to the beach. The pool was lovely and water temperature was perfect. The rooms are really beautiful, bathroom could be a little bit cleaner. There is a window that’s always open and mosquitoes can enter. Breakfast was really great with lots of options (mind the flies). They even packed us a breakfast the first night for our safari tour where we had to leave very early.

All though the location was beautiful, there aren’t many restaurants in the proximity. We tried diner at the hotel but it was mediocre and quite expensive. The drinks were warm and we had to wait some time. Next day we tried something else. We are a family of four and booked 2 rooms for 2 days, they have 2 villas with each 2 rooms. It was strange that we were separated.

A beautiful villa right by the beach — a perfect place to relax and immerse yourself in the soothing sound of the waves. The rooms are huge, elegantly furnished, and each has an additional space that serves as a living room. We enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace with a spectacular view of the ocean. However, the absolute highlight of our stay was the fantastic food. Every single dish we ordered was delicious — hands down the best food we had during our entire trip to Sri Lanka. We spent every day at the beach, where in the afternoons we could watch traditional fishing methods, and some of the fresh catch even ended up on our plates later! We also took a tour organized through the villa. We highly recommend the river safari, which includes a must-visit stop at Cinnamon Island and a local temple.

Greeted on arrival and let in to room. Welcome drink and cold towel was lovely. Staff at Villa Nilnara are amazinbgh. Super helpful. Breakfast was amazing. All cooked fresh on the premises. Room was very comfortable. plenty of space. There was a weird entrance area shared by the room above and they wanted to use our terrace area for coming in and out which was odd. So we had a word and they got funny about it. we weren't using their balcony upstairs!! Close to the beach. easy to get an uber and get around to Galle, Bentotam Balapitiya. Great partying in Haikkaduwa for new years. Big shout to Ranga who was super helpful throughout our holiday. Really made a huge difference.

The property is a little tired and could do with a freshening up The staff are delightful and Ranga the chef was good. It would help having some sort of booklet with more information about pre ordering food / local attractions / restaurants as it’s otherwise v limited to what you can do /eat. The only time we saw the owners son was in a rushed visit to pick up the cash payment & being asked to write a good review which we found very distasteful. The views and the pool are wonderful and the local staff v kind & attentive. Superb aircon & mini fridges.

It was difficult to find and should have better signage at the end of the track as we ended up nearly on the beach! But the local were so kind to help our driver with directions
