Fins Villa Medewi

Its clean and comfortable. Really good for its price. There are actually 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms but only 2 are air conditioned. Really close to the surf spots.

There are a lot of bugs, however, it is a landed villa so the bugs are expected. The pool is cloudy but thats not much of a problem for me. It'll be easier to communicate with the host if you know bahasa indonesia.

Sheets and mosquito nets were clean but had stains. Quite a bit of road noise.

Location was ok. There was a cafe in walking distance - Avocado - which took CC. We had to eat there most of the time. If your a surfer and stay at either of the 2 exxy hotels on the surfing beach - you will love it. otherwise - not.

The photos on the booking sites, must have been taken some years back, as its old, falling apart - needs ALOT OF WORK DONE. Could not use the pool, it needed cleaning and chlorine. (was told they hadn't had a chance to clean it yet as the last lot of visitors had left that morning - along with all the dishes - washed - still sitting on the counter. I still had to wash the ones I used again. The showers had green stuff growing on the floor. The only way to get money or any groceries - ie Indo mart etc (the villa has a working - just - kitchen) - you need to either hire a bike or get on the back of someone with a bike (motor) to go to the next village/town - about 15 mins away. The main highway is like "Running man" - take your chances and hope you live. No way am I hiring a motorbike around there, plus your insurance doesn't cover it - read the small print. And I am NOT BEING THAT STUPID. Plus the locals hooned up and down the street outside our bedroom all night.

The location was really good a short walk to Avacado and Rasta restaurants. We liked the general space of the property and privacy.

The pool was probably the biggest disappointment. It was an awesome size and depth. But it was pretty cloudy for the week we were there. The staff didn’t really understand what I was referring to so we didn’t really use the pool that much. The other issue was there are no comfortable lounge seats or sofas for watching tv etc. We brought in one of the sun loungers which was fine since there was only 2 of us.

Great location, lovely spacious house, staff were very quick to arrive when I had a problem with the bathroom lock- fixed within ten minutes

On weekdays the noise from traffic can be loud in the mornings
