Villa Del Mar

Located in a convenient area. Host was helpful when we had questions. Braai and sitting area was pleasant. Enjoyed the walk to the penguins. Free coffee beans and good coffee machine (bean to cup). Huge kitchen with pretty much everything you need. Beds were comfortable.

A number of things are dated and need a refresh. I think the owner is aware. Especially bedrooms and bathrooms, linens and towels. Washing machine is very old and didn't wash our clothes, so we ended up hand washing. You need to be aware to bring everything with you for basic amenities and cleaning up on longer stays - there are no basics like dishwashing tablets or liquid, kitchen cloths to wipe surfaces, no broom, no refuse bags, no extra toilet rolls. There is a shop down the road so you can get supplies.

Beautiful house, lovely and spacious. Location walking distance to penguins. Fireplace upstairs was wonderful on cold rainy days.

Unfortunately we experienced issues with the hot water geyser not working from the Thursday. Host was responsive but initially said it will only be fixed on Monday (freezing winter) and offered showering facilities at a different guest house. Had to ask for geyser to be repaired, which was done on Saturday. Thankful that we didn't have to wait until Monday, but two days without hot water wasn't comfortable. Electricity was about to run out and had to ask for more, since the check-in information stated it's the guests responsibility to buy electricity if the daily average is exceeded. There was no tumble dryer to dry towels or wet clothes as per property description. It was rainy outside and freezing cold, so used towels stayed damp. It was quite cold and an additional blanket for the beds would have been a nice touch to stay warm.

The heated pool wasn’t heated, this was the only disappointment as we had our kids with.

Wonderful nice and clean. View was excellent, both to ocean and mountains.

We traveled from America, would have liked if there were swim towels available as we have not brought some. Maybe also a supply of handwashing soap.

The house is very spacious. Our Host was very friendly and helpful. Everything was neat and perfect. The stove is amazing!!! We felt very safe with all the security measures.

This was the most perfect house. We had everything we needed and more and the host was absolutely amazing and accommodating! Definitely recommend!!!
