"Beautiful spot, but disappointing stay."

6.0

Gostei do contacto pre e pós dos anfitriões e adorei a vista.

Although the house enjoys a beautiful mountain-top location, several drawbacks impacted our stay. Traffic noise from the highway below is audible at night, and the house needs repairs. The third bedroom is a small mezzanine suitable for children, so the house should be listed as 1 couple + 4 children, with one small bunk-bed room. The upstairs bathroom is cramped, the garden was unkempt, and the firepit still had ashes from previous use. The house wasn’t properly cleaned—cobwebs, scattered toys, and disorganized books made it feel like a family home occasionally rented out as-is. The poorly marked driveway makes access tricky, and I wouldn’t recommend arriving at night. For a group of six friends celebrating a 50th birthday, mismatched dishes and glasses, combined with the lack of cleanliness, fell short of expectations.

"Cosy Countrside hostel like cottage. Per day Pricing was incorrect."

6.0

Let's say it was fully functional cozy country side cottage with a view. It overlooked the city of Vevey. It didn't have any next door neighbours so no one was there to get disturbed if children made some noise. The beds comfort was fine. I slept ok. The kitchen was functional. We also cooked one day. It had hot water and a nice music system.

It didn't have any the touch any luxury as such and hence we felt it was not worth the high tariff we paid. For 300 euros per night one typically expects a more luxurious place. At 150 euro per night it would have been a good value for money. It was a home of some nice people but it was worn down. We reached late in the evening when it was dark and to locate the place required some real dare devil. We had to ask a few people before we could locate the place. The access up to the cottage was very narrow and we had to take a U turn from 100 metres ahead to drive inside. Secondly it was not easy to locate the drop box where keys were kept in the darkness. It was a little weird. The bathrooms were really small and second bathroom can only be used by very small children; not practical for adults to use. The second bedroom was a bunk bed at best suited for children There were spiders in the home which meant it was not as well maintained as it should have been. The towels were just ok, not the fluffy ones we usually find in well high priced Airbnb's. I feel this home belongs to a nice family who started renting this out which is great. Just that they have priced it incorrectly so expectations get mismatched.

"Very good"

8.0

Beautiful breathtaking view from the house and the garden, lovely house with all the basic facilities available, opportunity to use the garden facilities as well. Very friendly host who fulfilled all of our requests. Key handover was very convenient (to be retrieved from locker), therefore flexible arrival time, late check out at 12:00 is also very comfortable and convenient.

In the living room the seating area could have been a bit more comfortable. It could also be a bit cleaner.

"Perfect wine aficionado getaway in the Lavaux, w/ a Million Dollar View for friends or a big family!"

10.0

Million Dollar View!!! It is secluded, except for some wandering cows on the next property. The home is fully stocked for cooking (indoors or out) and has a big refrigerator to bring your own groceries. It is an easy 20-minute walk to the Funicular (hill cable trolly), which runs about every 30 mins and puts you on top of the hill or into the city of Vevey below. It runs until almost 0100 in the morning, which is great if you want to drink and go explore all the wineries or catch a train to the bigger cities nearby for a few Euros and not have to worry about hiking back up or driving the ultra-narrow village streets. The owners are super friendly and have done a great job in their remodeling, new appliances in the kitchen, while leaving some of the classic parts and fixtures of the home in place. All in all, it had us looking at how to buy a property nearby so we could go back forever. The view is so breathtaking, facing down to the vineyards and the city of Vevey, across the lake to the France and Suise border, and beyond to the upper Rhône river valley into the Alps. Worth every penny. What a Gem!

It is not something that I didn't like, just a forewarning... the drive up to the home is steep, and the last 100 meters or so is super steep, 22% grade. Not recommended for the elderly, feight of heart or little kids. The driveway entrance is also super narrow (maybe ~2.1 meters), so bring your skinny all-wheel drive car.
