Villa Los Hinojales

The garden and the view are astonishing. You will eventually meet the farm cat of the village. He is very nice, will want to be pet. But beware, he will try to come inside if you open the door. Being very allergic to cats I can confirm that he comes inside the house if the windows are open/left unattended. The kitchen is fully equipped and the host left some us some wine which we enjoy on the terrasse.

We know this house is old. We knew when booking and are used to booking old villas where were from. But this was something else. The villa has a very strong mold smell. We tried to ventillate it during the day, burn some insence, using the fireplace... Nothing worked except the dehumidifier. The humidity was at 95% when we arrived and lowered at 82% adter using the dehumidifier for 8 hours. Nothing will dry in the house, so you might have to take your towels outside. Even the blanket on the bed was damp when we arrived, we used the spared one instead. The bed we had was more than firm and the pillows are not made for everyone. There are no bug screen, so millipedes will get inside. I'm used to some, but finding 2 in the bed was a bit much for me. The top was finding a very very moldy wooden spoon. We threw it away and washed every plates and utensils after that. And lastly, the "free included breakfast" is in fact store bought plastic wrapped breads. Not exactly what we were expecting. We'd like to mention that we never met the host. This felt like a Air BnB experience. The nice view comes with a warning of very steep slope. Pass by the north road and not south one, we almost had an accident using the south road up.
