Seaview Villa Mirthios Panorama with Private Swimming Pool and BBQ!

Well appointed 3-bedroom home with swimming pool, stunning sea views in quiet setting within walking distance to 3 excellent restaurants.

The peaceful location that offered beautiful views, the privacy provided by both the location and the host, the house’s facilities that include a fully equipped kitchen with quality appliances and a generous welcome package of fruit, wine, cake, bread et.al. The house was absolutely spotlessly clean and bedrooms provided with crisp quality sheets and fluffy towels, clearly prepared by a professional laundry. The regular cleaning of the pool and house during our nine nights stay. Probably the BEST self contained accommodation we have ever had … and that IS saying something!

Like anywhere, there were a few minor niggles … nowhere is perfect! But nothing we could not cope with nor anything that spoiled our stay.

The villa was ideal for our family holiday. It is on a hillside with beautiful views and only a short walk to some lovely tavernas. It is a drive to the nearest supermarkets and grocery shops - a car is essential. The villa was clean and it was well stocked with provisions for our arrival (really apprectiated after a long day!). The owner met us and was very friendly and informative. He also popped back with fresh figs later in the week. There are also daily visits from the local animals - a dog, cat and some guinea fowl. The villa is well located to explore the local beaches and towns or just relax by the pool enjoying the views.

Although it looks quite secluded there are neighbours immediately next door - this wasn't a problem for us but we sometimes felt a bit overlooked and conscious of making noise.

Wow! Pretty much everything. The location is stupendous. Not only is Myrthios centrally placed on the South Coast of Crete, it is also a tremendous destination in its own right, especially for dining out! There are at least 3 tavernas in the village, all of which appear to be very good. However, we can’t say for sure because Dionyssos was so good we ate all three of our dinners out there. This was the taverna our host recommended most highly, and is a true gem. We could walk to the taverna in less than 5 minutes, although it was probably 10 minutes to get back up the hill after those amazing dinners. The villa was beautiful, with a wonderful view over Plakias and out to sea. The property was quiet and it really felt like we were in the country. One day we walked up the hills behind the property and explored the wildflowers, butterflies and birds. It was a short but exciting drive to Previli Beach and the string of beaches running east from there. We got to Phaistos in a little over an hour. The kitchen was well stocked and our host provided essentials to get us started. The BBQ worked well and we enjoyed 2 home cooked meals. There are good grocery shops, bakeries and a butcher shop in Plakias. We didn’t find the fish store in time to check it out. It is tucked away on a small side street running up from the beach. Our host was very helpful and came to our aid immediately when we couldn’t figure out how to work the washing machine. This is a truly wonderful place to stay.

It was tremendous. The only thing that would have made it even better were a toaster (we toasted bread under the broiler), and maybe a spatula with a long handle for the BBQ.
