AUIt was beautifully quiet, the location was perfect, a little out of the way in a busy tourist area, like coming home away from the hustle and bustle. Cool off in the pool after sightseeing. Choose to provide your own meals in the common area or enjoy the local cooking. In the evening relax by pouring a beer. Lovely host.
I found it all really comfortable. Maybe the driveway could do with a little work.

NZI had a wonderful stay at Ariki's Retreat. It's conveniently located about a 5-10 minute walk from Muri Beach, where you'll find supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and opportunities for snorkeling and other activities. The retreat is also very close to a bus stop, making it easy to get around. I particularly enjoyed the deck area, where you can help yourself to fresh fruit, tea, coffee, and more. The pool was perfect for relaxing on windy days, as the retreat is well-sheltered. The room had everything we needed, including a kitchenette for preparing meals, plus air conditioning and a fan, which were a lifesaver on hot days. Our host, Jill, was absolutely wonderful—always friendly and available for a chat, offering recommendations on places to visit, or helping with anything we needed. She even gave us a lift when we were running late for our cultural show. Jill’s kindness and hospitality made our stay at Ariki's Retreat truly memorable. I had a wonderful stay at Ariki and enjoyed everything about it. My only suggestion would be to consider adding a wardrobe or dresser in the room for clothing, and some shelves in the bathroom for cosmetics, to make it more comfortable and convenient for guests to move around.
NZIt is always nice to receive attention, care, help from the owners of the place where you spend your vacation. Jill the manager was such a person. She helped us with the rental car, took us to the rental company, shared her fish catch with us, spent time with us in interesting conversations.

NZWe loved Ariki from the minute we arrived, The tropical garden and the outdoor area are beautiful. Jules, our host was very helpful with bookings and tour recommendations. Still close and in walking distance to Muri Beach with all the bars, restaurants etc. but away from the hustle and bustle. It was very quiet and not many roosters around which is a big bonus on Rarotonga. We will be back soon.
