Windmill Villa

Fantastic location and incredibly unique accomodation. Amazing outside area with 180 + degree view of the sea, screens made area more private. Inside beautifully decorated and comfortable. Small rocky area to right was great to swim and snorkel from. Quiet as seperate from town but an easy 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants and harbour. Ms Marina was lovely, she picked us up and dropped us off at the port and was very helpful with recommendations for beaches and restaurants to visit. I stayed here with my adult daughter and we both fell in love with the Windmill.

Beautiful old property in a stunning location by the sea

It was fine for us, but the layout and space is small and quirky. We were three people (1 adult and 2 teens) but there isn’t much space inside except to sleep. Although this was not the owners fault, the air con broke due to a power supply issue and we were without it for two nights, which was very unpleasant for sleeping. Communication around the issue could have been better and we were just told to ‘open the windows’ - given these are tiny it didn’t make much difference. To have been provided with a fan at least so we could sleep whilst the problem was awaiting repair would have been good.

This villa was the fantasy of the perfect island getaway come to life. The villa was exactly as pictured in the site photos. We used the second level of the villa as our bedroom, and the third as our dressing room, allowing us to keep the kitchen area uncluttered. Others might wish to reverse this order. It felt like living on our own private island, while sitting on that patio. The patio had 180+ degrees of unbroken ocean vista with no neighbors. We had excellent visual privacy overlooking multiple uninhabited islands. It was about 40 feet to the sea, where we had exclusive access to the best snorkeling on the island. The skies were so clear and dark at night that the Milky Way looked like light pollution.

The only negative experience was having to leave this amazing villa.

Unique experience, spectacular, stunning location. For an old building with so much character, the renovation to modernise it is superb. The bed was so large and comfortable. The shaded outdoor area with chairs and sun lounges overlooking the sea was so relaxing. Marina is an amazing hostess, organised everything we needed, couldn’t help us more.

We loved the location and the atmospheric set up of the building. It was at a rather isolated spot which created tranquility. The view from the terrace is amazing. We literally spent one entire day sitting at the terrace watching the blue Aegean sea and relaxing. We also went to the bright blue waters of the sea just down the place. It was like our private sea. Marina, our host was so kind and welcoming. She even brought us birthday cakes for my birthday which was so kind. We loved her. She was very helpful in every way. The owner also spoke to us on the phone welcoming us to his place which was also a very kind move. The kitchen was rich it had all possible gadgets.

we have been told to empty the room by 10.00 am although the info on the booking com allowed at least till 11.00. Our boat was at 15.30 so it was in a way a day lost at Koufonissi... We must say that our host at the site Ms. Marina was so kind that she took our luggage in the morning and brought to the harbour at 14.00 to deliver us. That way at least we didn't have to carry them all day.
