Tayu Eco Villa

The quiet location (you feel like you’re at the end of the world), yet not too far off from the main roads, the town and some of the main attractions. Being right at the foot of a real volcano is really cool! The open space, with the huge sliding door making the kitchen, living room and patio into one large room is great, especially with the Canary weather. Renata and Matteo were very nice, and answered very promptly when we ran out of gas. Matteo had the gas tank changed within half an hour.

Appart from the fact that you must “time” your washing cycle with the sun (solar powered), the only minus were the beds. A little too stiff from my point of view.

We greatly enjoyed our four-day stay at Tayu Eco Villa. Wonderful sunrises and sunsets - amazing how quickly sunset happens when you actually stand and watch it. Swimming pool is a good size and looks beautiful - but pretty chilly to use in March, so once was enough! Should be a wonderful experience in high summer. House has all facilities one could expect in a rural eco retreat. Great mix of indoor and outdoor space, and huge sliding doors allows the two to integrate very well. Plenty of lovely walking routes in vicinity - although we discovered that the main loop route around Volcán de la Arena is partially closed during bird-nesting season from mid-February to end of July (disappointing but totally understandable). One morning we were visited by a local rooster and two female companions (hens!)! Their breakfast ritual kept us entertained for a while. If looking for fine dining experience locally, a visit to La Villa restaurant in Villaverde is a must - we had a wonderful meal there. Finally, Renata is a lovely host. She was there to welcome us and say goodbye, and responded promptly to any queries. All round, we had a lovely stay.

Very little not to like. Perhaps the creaking floor boards that make it a bit challenging to quietly go the bathroom during the night! One thing to note, though, is that there are several other houses in closer proximity than is apparent from website photographs. While they don't overly intrude on privacy, we were always conscious of them. Its not so rural, really.

A very comfortable Villa with everything we needed for a lovely week. Quiet location with good privacy and great views. The swimming pool is heated by the sun, so still quite fresh in early April, but we still used it most days. There is a large outside area to sit, and a well equipped kitchen area with gas oven and hob. Being an Eco Villa, electric is from solar panels, but we had no problems with it. Towels were provided for the bathroom and the pool. The views from the volcano next door were spectacular. Renata is the perfect host replying to questions quickly, being available when necessary and leaving you to enjoy your holiday. Thank you so much!

Nothing

The villa is in a beautiful, peaceful setting, unfortunately the weather wasn't too good so we weren't able to take full advantage of all the facilities. The owners are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble with great communications.
