"Really beautiful stay, a special treat that didn't disappoint"

10.0

An amazing place to stay. The villa was beautiful and well stocked with essentials. The Staff were wonderful, very attentive but in a relaxed an easy manner. Breakfast in The Greenhouse was perfect, lovely surroundings and the food was excellent. Tried both the room service and BBQ delivery pack and both were very good.

We stayed with older children and the menu was perfect for us but some may find it limiting and more suited to adults.

"Extremely disappointing"

4.0

More cul de sac than chic boutique hotel. Our view was over a building site and scaffolding. It feels the property has been developed in a hurry with corners cut and no proper attention to detail (no robes, no shelves in the bathroom et ), more design heavy than practical. We were also not told prior to our arrival that children could not use the pool. It felt like this is a poor neighbour to the main hotel

"Amazing service"

10.0

Our family stayed in a 3-bed villa for a week in July. The villas are very spacious and nicely decorated with natural and recycled materials, with a nice, relaxed feel. The resort is in a beautiful natural setting of dunes and natural vegetation a short walk away from the villas. It also has some sustainability features like heat pumps, solar panels and solar shading over some windows, and an organic vegetable and herb garden. They have a kids area with a range of activities, which which was never busy, I presume due to the small number of villas. Our kids 9 and 6 enjoyed the trampolines, bikes and pedal karting. The family BBQ night was a highlight, as well as the circle of fire, where we met other families and guests. The breakfast area in the greenhouse is quite special too. But the main reason I am taking the time to write my first Trip Advisor review is the staff. They were simply delightful. Always friendly, attentive and accommodating, without exception. We went for the setting and design, but really would come back for the people.

"Great Design in Stunning Natural Setting"

10.0

My family and I recently stayed in a villa for five nights at Areias do Seixo. The design of the villa and common areas is really nice and fits perfectly with the stunning natural surroundings. The breakfasts in the greenhouse were also very special and the quality and selection of food and drink items was wonderful. Our only complaint would be that the lunch and dinner service at the hotel is challenging. Very nice but verrrry slow service, and a small and expensive menu limited to, shall we say, quite healthy things served in quite small portions. On the other hand, the restaurants associated with the hotel but located a 10 minute drive away - Noah's Beach House and Noah's Surf House - are fantastic.

"Chic, modern, and anti-private"

8.0

Lets me start off by saying there are many great things about having a chic 3-bedroom vila - just the size alone is so much better than a typical hotel room when traveling with a family or friends. I didn't realize until arriving that the Areias do Seixo hotel is so different compared to the vilas - a completely different experience. The positive of a vila here (as I said) is the size, and also the amenities inside - a full kitchen with any items you'd need (pots, pans, etc). A huge outdoor space for BBQing, a table to fit 10 easily, and access to the main hotel's services like room service/gardens/beach. There's no double it's a beautiful place with nice staff. I'll highlight a few drawbacks I didn't expect, the first is the vilas are literally next to a road. There aren't many cars, but I pictured something remote and in nature - these is not that. Walk to the main hotel and you quickly get the nature vibe. The vilas feel like they're in a village. Not one with nice cobble stones, one with asphalt... Also, this is not a place for kids under 2. The hotel provided us 1 gate, but we would need 3-4 more to actually keep kids safe without constant monitoring. The floating stairs have just enough room for a small child to wiggle between. The pool could easily have a small barrier to prevent kids access, but that's not an option. Lastly, I'm convinced the designer actually tried to make the vilas non-private (or anti-private if that's a word?). Either they wanted some kind of community feel, or they were a voyeur - I'm not sure which, but you should know what you're getting into here. The pools are directly in front of the street. The main windows has 1 small curtain that covers about 30% of the glass. The top floor balcony looks directly through to other balconies. The bathroom frosting is not high enough to prevent neighbours from seeing me pee. I could go on. It's odd spending this kind of money and not having at least some privacy. Consider yourself warned, if getting close to neighbours doesn't bother you, this is the vila for you!
