Villa GGK

The villa surpassed everything we were looking for. Whilst only a short distance from the main connecting road across the north of Crete, it felt very off the beaten track set in olive groves with distant views to the mountains in several directions and fabulous sunsets. It is very private with no near neighbours except the owner's other never-used nearby property. The look and feel of the place is exactly as it appears in the photos and is in perfect condition still. It was better equipped than any villa I have ever stayed in. Having a decent quality sound system was a joy. The host was always available immediately for questions and advice by WhatsApp. The little coastal village of Panormo is just a few minutes drive away with nice restaurants, coffee bars and small supermarket to give you a local base. We had a fantastic time and are likely to return next year.

This is no way a reflection on the villa - just a piece of advice for other guests. Always take the shortest path back onto the main road from the property. Google Maps frequently offers you very temping routes to where you want to go which inevitably take you down tracks in the olive groves which are not tracks you want to be on in a hire car! The owner does mention this - believe him!

getting there is a bit of a challenge and could easily be made simpler. In general considering there's barely interaction with the host, it would be good to have a manual for how to work things out, where to find things and the nearest shops / gas station would add a plus

The location is stunning and the villa is beautifully decorated with high spec tv and around system, perfect for watching some good films in the evenings
