Seafront Villa Longobardi

We, 3 adults aged 92 to 44 and a teenager, 16 years old, were guests at the Seafront Villa Longobardi from October 19, 2024 to November 3, 2024. The host was already waiting for us in the villa on the day of our arrival, gave us the house keys and explained everything to us in detail. His wife served us a Cretan dish to welcome us. The house corresponds exactly to the description and the pictures. The villa stands on a slope and is divided into 3 levels. The lowest level has a full kitchen, living room with TV and bedroom with box spring beds and adjoining shower room and washing machine. After stepping out of the living room you are on a covered terrace with a view of the swimming pool and sun loungers. There are also tables and chairs to the left and right as well as a chill-out area. To the left of the terrace is the covered BBQ area with charcoal grill and a dining corner with table and chairs. We had a barbecue here every evening and stayed until the early evening. On the second level there is another fully equipped kitchen, living room with TV, terrestrial and internet programs as well as streaming services as well as two separate balconies and a fantastic view of the bay of Loutraki Beach and a bedroom with a separate shower room. It is quite unique when large cruise ships pass the villa in the evening in full lighting on their way to the port of Chania. The house entrance door is also on the second level. There is enough space in front of the house for several rental cars. The two levels are also secured with a lockable railing (child safety lock), so that sufficient privacy is guaranteed when used by two families. On the top level there are two further bedrooms (one with two separate beds and one with a king-size bed) and a shower room. All rooms are very stylishly furnished. The kitchens are well equipped with kitchen appliances, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, ovens and stoves as well as dishes.

The location of the villa is perfect as it is very quiet and only a few kilometers from the airport and shopping facilities. The landlord, Mr. Evangelos Lagouvardos, is on site every second or third day to clean the pool and water and keep the garden tidy. He gave us great shopping information. We had a fantastic BBQ evening with the landlord couple. Here are some more informations during your stay: A rental car is essential for the duration of your stay. To keep the mosquitoes at bay, we used Thermacell gas attachments with mosquito tablets. The necessary gas bottles are available in the supermarket in Chania, for example Lidl or Super Market Chalkiadakis Max. Shopping order: first Lidl, than Super Market Chalkiadakis MAX, ΜΠΙΣΤΙΧΑΣ ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΣ Bakery and Sweet Dreams Pastry - a must if you love pastries, and finally ΚΡΕΟΠΩΛΕΙΟ "MEAT SHOP" ΤΑ ΣΤΡΑΤΙΝΑΚΙΑ, a delicatessen butcher's shop opposite the BP gas station with great BBQ offers. Loutraki Beach is very suitable for swimming. To get into the water, keep to the right as there are a lot of stones in the middle. Please do not be alarmed if small fish called "Garra Rufa" nip at your legs to eat skin scales. A travel guide of Crete (e.g. ADAC Travel Guide Plus) is recommended. Please note that if you want to visit tourist attractions or beaches (Elafonissi, Balos), you should be there before 10:00 a.m., otherwise it can get very crowded. Also, adjust your driving style, as the roads on Crete are often very narrow and confusing.We had a fantastic holiday during our vacation and miss the landlord couple very much, as they were very concerned about our well-being and always gave us great insider tips. We felt very comfortable as guests and will certainly be guests of Mr Evangelos Lagouvardos and his wife again in the near future. We wish all readers of this review a wonderful vacation on Crete. The villa was absolutely beautiful, with a gorgeous pool, multiple spatious common spaces, multiple terraces and its own private swimming spot with calm crystal-clear water. The host was so lovely and friendly. He waited for us with cold wine and his wife baked for us. He came every other day to clean the pool and brought us ice cream, raki and baklava and gave us good recommendations. The whole area is beautiful, private and quiet. We had an amazing time and we would love to come back!

We had to clean out the filters in the AC units because they were not blowing out any cold air.

We loved our stay at Villa Longobardi. Host was fantastic and always on hand to help. Villa and pool kept clean during our stay. We swam to the beach bar every morning from the rocks accessible from the bottom of the villa. In crystal clear seas. Air-conditioning and WiFi works perfectly. Loved waking up to the amazing views. Restaurants available locally. Hire car essential. And a good pair of beach shoes. I miss it already.

The host was excellent and the house was perfect

This was a fabulous villa- large, spacious and very clean. The owner had left the keys for us near the door. He also left us a pie and beers which was fantastic as we arrived very ;ate and no restaurants were open near the villa
