Kantan the house with ocean view

Beautiful view, near a bus stop and some locally popular restaurants, lots of room.

Because of rampant fraud, we needed an actual Japanese telephone number to reach, and then keep in contact, with the host. Understandable, however, a challenge.

お風呂が広過ぎて寒かった

The property was perfectly nice, and the location was lovely. The house is right on Beppu Bay and every morning it was hard to beat the view from the terrace. There was plenty of space at the house, lots of futons along with a sofa bed and two western style beds to sleep on and parking for 3 cars (though we only had one and it would be a pretty tight squeeze for 3).

The location was a little bit far away from the center of town, which was both a good thing (quiet) and bad thing (slightly inconvenient). There is a train that you can take for one stop to downtown Oita, but it runs about every hour. A taxi to the center of the city is between 1,400-1,800Y one way, so it wasn't too bad. The mattresses on the western-style beds were a little hard, but otherwise everything was perfectly acceptable and comfortable.
