Casa Palana

The attention to detail in this property is wonderful. It’s a very beautiful layout with gorgeous leather seating in the living room, including lazy-boys, and beautiful wood furniture throughout. We only used one of the bedrooms but all three were beautifully presented as were the spotless bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you can possibly need and is a lovely size, with open counter into the living room. The dining room has the most amazing heavy wooden table which seats around 12 I recall. The outside continues to wow, with the front door, welcoming and colourful with plants. But the winner for us was the main garden. A stunning kidney shaped solar-heated pool, beautifully finished with a non-slip chamferred lining, 4 steps into the shallow end (1.3m) and at the deep end (1.8m) there is a nice submerged shelf to sit on, or assist climb out. It is surrounded by a clean garden of various cactus and palm trees. As you exit the main living room there is a spacious sheltered patio to sit in with the outdoor furniture provided and there are plenty of sunbeds positioned around the pool side. There is a sheltered area with table and chairs for outdoor eating if you wish. And then, the best part, the wonderful hotspring hot tub. It is set opposite the pool in a bespoke high walled square secluded area for some privacy. The pool and hot tub were cleaned twice during the week by a local cleaner and the house cleaner came midway through our stay with the offer of fresh towels and bedding.

I think a very slightly taller wall around the pool area would have been nice for a little more privacy but certainly not essential.

Villa is well presented and well equipped. We really enjoyed our week there and wished we were staying longer! The welcome pack was a lovely touch when we arrived and the welcome book which was sent before we arrived was a great source of info and much appreciated. The pool and outdoor area is great, so spacious and exactly what we were looking for, the hot tub was a great added bonus. Kitchen is well equipped and there is an American fridge which has double filtered water and ice which was a great addition. The bedrooms have everything you require with plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. There are various restaurants and shops a 5 min walk away and the bus stop for going into playa blanca, making the location ideal for a relaxing week.

no BBQ, which was one of our requirements as we were there for a relaxing week and intended to BBQ most days. It was advertised but when I contacted the host they said it has been stolen and no plans to replace. No air con was the only other con, sleeping with the windows open and the shutters closed worked in October but I think it would be too hot in the summer months.
