Villa Famara by Villalia

Beautifully appointed and well equipped. Liked the heated pool and the front terrace for a sunrise. Very clean.

Nothing really. We had a car so we were ok but I would recommend hiring a car as you are far away from most places.

The property was very clean, bed comfortable, views brilliant, seating options outside, parking garage, friendly cleaning staff, very quiet area. Good location. Fascinating light fittings!

20 steps up to front door (not mentioned in the ad), Showers in the bath, bath tubs very slippery (following an injurious fall we bought a bath mat), no info about recycling and no spare bags for the bin, Sun loungers very old and discoloured and fabric on the double sun bed torn and threadbare, pool cover falling apart at one end with bits breaking off. The pool itself potentially dangerous, no handrail on the steps, no sign or info about the depth of water. At the shallow end it came up to my armpits (I'm 5ft 10) at the deep end it was over my head, so probably 6ft. (1.8m). Nothing to hold on to around the sides. Although the water was clean there were lots of areas where the painted surface was chipped or peeling off. The lounge furnishing was probably chosen for style rather than comfort. Deep settee impossible to sit on without lots of cushions. A matter of personal preference of course.

Villa located in a quiet neighbourhood with lovely views over Playa Blanca and mountains behind. Pool was temperature controlled with plenty of seating in the pool area. Bed rooms were comfortable and having 2 bathrooms was a bonus.

Villa was a little on the small side but had everything you'd need.

Amazing location couldn't of been in a nicer part of lanzarote

Internet wasn't working for the 1st day and all the power was gone we hadn't realised until it got dark and none of the lights were working but we found the fuse box and it had just tripped so was sorted out asap

Clean, great location and views on the edge of Playa Blanca. Lovely outdoor areas, and very nice heated private pool. Villa itself immaculate, clean, spacious and very well presented.

I think the pool heating/pump was off towards the end of the week as it was much cooler in the water. This however is just an observation and not a complaint as the weather was very warm and the cooler pool temperature at the end of our week was not an issue. The Villa service staff tended to congregate around the front of the Villa. I think this is because the service equipment/fresh laundry etc. was stored in the room at the back of next door’s garage. This was sometimes annoying as our instruction was that this was a quiet residential area and to respect this. The only distraction we found in fact was the noise of constantly running engines from the service vehicles outside (just turn the engine off when not using!), slamming doors and occasional shouting to each other.

Maids cleaned the villa very well and changed our towels twice during our 2 week stay which we didn’t expect but appreciated. The double bed in the main bedroom was comfortable. The villa has lovely views to the front and pleasant area at the back but very windy.

The pool was cold throughout our 2 week stay at the property despite me informing the staff daily and them apparently trying to amend this. It did not work. We had a warm pool for one day of our stay only and the rest of the two weeks it was far too cold. The villa is in a very windy area. Lanzarote is a windy island but where the villa is situated is particularly windy every single day and this is another reason why the pool needs to be adequately heated but it wasn’t. The owner/staff need to try and swim in it every day themselves rather than just keep trying to prove that they have heated the pool to a certain temperature because it was cold and unpleasant despite this. The pool was cleaned during our stay regularly however there is a big pool scum mark on the side despite and my daughter also got a nasty weeping rash every time she used the pool which would scab over. I had to start smothering her in Vaseline prior to help and she was prescribed an antihistamine. It became obvious that she was having some type of allergic reaction to the pool water but she has never had this reaction before. She goes swimming weekly at home and never breaks out in a rash. I think the owner/staff should check what type of chlorine they are cleaning the pool with. The single beds in the second bedroom where also very uncomfortable. My daughter and I could not sleep in these and therefore shared the double bed which was comfortable. My dad is not as picky about his bed type and therefore slept in the two single beds. The villa is clean and nicely decorated but not very practical for families who want to relax etc. The sofa was not very comfortable with nowhere to put your feet up at night to watch a movie. It was also suede material which isn’t practical for children and so we covered it with a blanket to protect it. The villa is also situated too far for children to walk into the main resort area.

Absolutely loved the villa. There is a designated car park, super easy to park the car, the villa is very clean, and we loved everything about it. The backyard is our favourite, feel relaxed and comfortable. Plenty of chairs and private pool was just a bonus. Key collection was painless, communication with the property management was also smooth. Highly recommended!
