Villa Sol by Amazing Madeira

Villa Sol truly impressed us. The house offers more than enough space for a family, but the real highlight is the outdoor area! The spacious terrace provides a fantastic view of the pool and the entire property — perfect for winding down while keeping an eye on the kids. Our 4-year-old daughter was especially delighted by the cats that regularly visited us during breakfast and dinner — a charming touch that made the stay even more special. The villa is extremely well equipped. I had no trouble preparing Espetadas on the large grill — everything we needed was readily available. Absolutely top-notch! The location is also ideal: just 10 minutes away is the romantic Praia da Ponta do Sol, a small and beautiful beach with a few cozy restaurants. About 20 minutes away is the sandy beach Praia da Calheta, which became our go-to spot for swimming — the sun always seemed to shine there :-) A big shout-out to the AmazingMadeira team who manage the property. They welcomed us with fresh fruit and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. For anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing day at the villa — cooking, grilling, and lounging by the pool — Villa Sol is highly recommended!

Sehr geräumig sauber und tolle Lage

Ohne Auto nicht geeignet kein super Markt oder Restaurant in der nähe, Ausstattung ist in die Jahre gekommen und müsste Mal saniert werden

The location was great. The construction nearby caused some inconvenient noise but in the evenings, it was peaceful. You need a car to stay here as it is in the middle of nowhere. The kitchen had a great selection of cooking implements/equipment and we really enjoyed cooking and eating, sitting and enjoying the view. The villa is spacious - bigger than it looks on the photos and the rooms are good sizes. We had booked it as 4 double rooms so we had the bungalow to use as well.

The agent, Margarida, from 'Amazing Madeira' was not at all helpful during our stay. Disappointing as we paid a lot to stay in this villa and it was a special occasion for us so we expected the agents to really take care of us during our stay. Margarida didn't provide proper directions to the property so our airport taxi driver ended up going to the wrong location (there are 2 properties with the same address apparently). Consequently, she made it clear then that she didn't have time to show us around properly as we were late and she had another appointment. She turned on the aircon after I'd asked her how it worked - however later that evening it was operational but not cooling the rooms. I asked her to come and look at it as I wasn't sure it was set to the correct mode but she said it was working when she showed me it and that she didn't have any aircon in her house either! She then told me we would have to wait for a technician to come out so we had no aircon for 5 days which was excruciatingly uncomfortable for my 80 year old mum! I looked all over the villa for some instructions for the aircon as Margarida had told me that they were available but there was no advice on how to operate it. My daughter then discovered that the agent had not set it to the correct mode. I complained about the noise of the construction nearby and was told that it didn't affect the villa as it was not right outside! Of course, the noise travels across the valley more so than if it was directly outside the gate. The pool didn't have a pump or any filtration system so debris just collected in the corners of the floor and it was in a bad state of repair.

Het contact met het verhuurbureau was verschrikkelijk. Al direct na boeking waarschuwden ze voor weg werkzaamheden in de straat met veel lawaai en het water zou afgesloten worden. Bij aankomst was de straat afgesloten en kon ik niet bij het huis parkeren. Ik kreeg berichten dat ze wilden dat ik later dan geboekt zou inchecken. Dat heb ik geweigerd. Tijdens mijn verblijf kreeg ik dreigende berichten in mijn APP dat ik formulieren moest invullen en als ik dat niet op tijd deed dat ik dan een boete zou krijgen en ze aangifte bij de politie zouden doen. Echt zeer arelaxed. De villa lag heel hoog waardoor het altijd bewolkt was en te koud voor het zwembad. Ver rijden vanaf de hoofdwegen.

Really amazing place. Spacefull villa with a lot of place to rest, relax and have great time. A really big pool and a nice garden for children to play. My family have spend there a beautifull vacation. Really nice and friendly host. Thank you!!!

beautiful villa on the top of the hill, stunning views! we felt there like at our own home, the bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable, plenty of space for bigger groups of people, very quiet place, the swimming pool was great!! although the water was cold children managed to use it:) super spot for children, the garden was safe, gates closed at all times. Lovely lady was waiting for us to welcome us.

bad smell in the garden room , ants ( but most likely it’s very difficult to not have them in the house on Madeira:) tricky roads to the Villa.
