Das Gästehaus liegt nur wenige Schritte von der historischen Altstadt entfernt. Tagsüber gibt es auf der Straße vor dem Haus viel Verkehr, nachts war es meistens ruhig. Man schaut vom Balkon auf den Fluss. Das Zimmer ist relativ klein, das Badezimmer groß und nahezu neu eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war gut. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Da wir eine Kälteperiode erwischt hatten, wurde uns sofort ein kleines Heizöfchen aufs Zimmer gestellt.

Es gibt keinen Frühstücksraum, so dass das Frühstück auch bei Kälte auf der Terrasse vor dem Haus eingenommen werden muss.

The location is excellent, situated just close enough to the main street but not caught up with the noise and activities. It is facing Nam Khan River where you can do your evening or morning walks. Phousi Hill, the many temples and night market are just a 5 to 10 minutes walk away. The early morning alm giving ceremony is just in the street behind. The staff are helpful in answering questions and arranging transport. You also get a reasonable selection of choice for breakfast and if you are still hungry after that, there is always the many cafes and restaurants nearby.

At around half an hour before the alm giving ceremony is set to begin, you will notice many minivans parking alongside the road in front of the property. Certain group of tourists do speak at a higher than necessary volume when disembarking and walking to the street behind for the ceremony. On the bright side, you do not need to set your alarm clock. Just get wake up, wash up and get ready if you are joining or watching the ceremony. I did that and came back to continue my sleep.

Ban Lakkham River View is very close to the main area but situated by the Nam Khan river making it easy to go back to the hotel for a break and a quieter place to be overall (construction was happening on the river bank while we were there but likely temporary /there will be noise early in the AM as many buses park on that street to go to the Alms Ceremony - but that’s simply your cue to get up and go to this traditional ceremony.) The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and clean. The included breakfast on the outside terrasse is a la carte with several options (the pumpkin soup with baguette is awesome). The daily fruit in a lovely glass container is a nice touch - as are the free lady finger bananas in the reception area. Finally the staff is very attentive and friendly.
