The apartment was excellent. Had everything and location was great

The couch was riddled with ants 🐜 I messages the owner and told the staff bur owner ignored or did not see the message and the property staff did not care. Ruined my holiday with bites every time I sat down

As it was presented, there was very little to like about Villa 42 apart from the location. it could be so nice but the owner needs to address numerous issues.

This could be so nice but…. We have stayed at Vilar do Golf 14 times before but always in accommodation managed by Diamond Resorts so this was our first experience of a privately owned property there. It was villa 42 but we were extremely dissatisfied. The first thing we immediately noticed was the bed. The property is advertised on Booking.com as having a “Large Double Bed” but in fact it is twin beds. The description is deliberately misleading and we would not have booked had we known. To worsen matters, the mattresses are poor and uncomfortable. The smoke detector was hanging open and loose from the ceiling, there was hardly any glassware for drinking and no shower gel in the dispenser. The owner arranged for these to be sorted but we still had a mismatched set of glasses with only 1 whisky tumbler and 1 flute. There were lots of other things wrong but after contacting the owner 3 times he did nothing about them. These included; - toilet seat was loose and too small for the pan. In fact by the end of our 9 nights it had come away from the pan. - shower drain partly blocked so water quickly built up to ankle height. - a moldy filter and coffee in the machine. - the Pyrex jug had a hole in the bottom which we only found whilst filling with juice that poured onto my feet. - no kitchen scissors or spatula and only 1 teaspoon. Not in keeping with the advertised “fully equipped kitchen”. A lot of these are minor issues and easily remedied. Having had no joy getting these resolved despite contacting the owner, Paolo, numerous times, I finally complained to Booking.com and sent them photographs of all the issues. To my astonishment, the owner insisted to them that everything had been sorted, which was a sheer untruth and blatant deception. To their credit, Booking.com have refunded me 20% of the cost. The owner told them “no compensation could be provided” and claimed multiple times that he had “already fixed your issues”.

Great location that we’ve used for thirty years now.

The location is excellent & Noa coffee shop is very nice.

We arrived at the property at 11.30 pm after a late flight. There was no soap or toiletries in the property. With covid still around, we couldn’t even wash our hands before going to bed & there was no shampoo or shower gel for a morning shower. So our 1st thing to do on our mini break was to go shopping for these. Whatever about no toiletries, I certainly would have expected soap. The bin wasn’t emptied or the towels changed during our stay.

The apartment and the complex our apartment was filthy, broken patio door, soiled bed linen and the staff at the resort were unhelpful

good location. well equipped apartment with all we needed for our visit. good range of tv channels. lovely outdoor area with table and chairs surrounded by beautiful gardens around whole resort. l great swimming pool area on site with comfy sun beds

no complaints at all. would suggest that property would benefit having a dressing table with a mirror, a full length wall mirror plus full length clothes hanging rail in wardrobe
