Villa Chinchorro

Villa is on two levels in a quiet neighbourhood. Fantastic shower. Rooms were tidy. There’s a nice relaxing space outside. Dishwasher and washing machine are also available. There’s a nice playground behind the villa for young children.

Even though I paid for a whole villa, I only had access to a limited number of rooms. The bedroom I was allowed in, didn’t have a wardrobe, only a shoe cabinet. I had to hang my trousers in the bathroom. My jacket over a chair in the living room. There was also no basket to put my dirty laundry in, I had to use plastic bags. There are also no tea towels available. There’s a coffee machine and yippie it’s working, but be aware it’s leaking like a colander like one of the former guests already mentioned. There are no English channels on the TV, so you must not forget to bring your fire stick with you. The villa should be able to accommodate ten people, but I only saw three sun loungers 🤔 If you’re traveling with toddlers you must be very attentive because the stairs are very steep and there are no security gates. There’s also no welcome leaflet available, you have to figure everything out yourself.

The villa was in a decent location and the pool was nice.

The villa was advertised as having 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The 4 of us in our group all expected separate rooms for various reasons. When we arrived there were only two bedrooms and two bathrooms unlocked. The meant we had access to less than half of what we were expecting. I had to contact the owner and ask for another bedroom to be made available for the second evening. This is something that should be made clear from the outset. Communication was good though and they came out the next evening to provide access to another room. The family next door were very noisy and the walls thin - they woke us up on a number of occasions and made it hard to relax with all the music and children screaming, crying and shouting. It's not something we wish to have to put up with on a holiday. The toaster didn't work and the coffee machine leaks if you leave any water in. Small issues easy to fix. We also expected televisions in the rooms, we should have checked this and brought alternatives. The only TV was attached tight to the wall which made it hard to access the ports to attach our firestick. I eventually managed thankfully as I could find no English channels. The villa could do with a WiFi extender downstairs as the WiFi would not reach the lower bedroom. The beds were very firm, I had to pad out a couple with the duvets to make then a bit softer.

The villa was in a quiet location with a 25 minute walk to the beaches, main shops and restaurants. The nearest supermarket was about 20 mins walk. The property was clean and spacious. The outside pool area was lovely and very private.
