Fantastic building and also beautifully decorated. Host was amazing before and during trip, went out of his way to ensure we had everything (booked us restaurants in advance and gave me a birthday cake). Fantastic view of Fuji from all upstairs bedrooms. We loved it

A couple of very small hinges - the sink didn’t have a plug and we didn’t really understand the oven. But we wanted to stay and eat in the house (a group of 7), this wouldn’t be an issue for everyone and I’d definitely give it a 10/10 and highly recommend to friends.

"Like staying in a model modern Japanese home in a magazine"

Staying here felt like staying in one of those stunningly beautiful modern Japanese homes you'd see in interior design magazines. It looked and felt amazing. There was very spacious, with many common spaces for us to choose from. There were only 4 of us on this trip, but the house could easily host double that, if not more. And on a clear day, we could even see Mt Fuji from the windows and the upstairs balcony! The host was very welcoming and even left us a nice treat to welcome us to the home, which was super thoughtful of him. He swung by shortly after we arrived so he could say hi and answer any questions we had. He was also super responsive when messaging him on Booking.com. He also spoke great English, so we didn't have any problems communicating with him. We'd definitely go back (we didn't want to leave)! (And as a testament to how great of a host he was, he didn't even ask me to post this review; I just really enjoyed staying here!)

Honestly it's kinda hard to think of something we didn't like. The only thing that went wrong was the gas fireplace in the living room, which kept beeping loudly whenever we tried to use it. The host did come by and try to get it working himself, but was ultimately unsuccessful. But that wasn't a big deal, since it wasn't actually that cold (and we could just turn on a separate heater); we were just hoping to use it for the aesthetics of having a cozy fire. Definitely wasn't a dealbreaker.
