Cabañas Don Ramiro

Es hermoso el entorno. Diana y Mari cocinan de maravilla y no es caro, muy variado y típico el menú. Llovió mucho igual uno de nosotros usó la piscina en plena lluvia. La cabaña muy bonita con vistas y confort. Bastante difícil y lejos llegar desde San José pero vale la pena para probar alojarse en medio de las nubes.

I have given this property a poor score to draw people's attention to the access issues which are not mentioned in the property details. If the owners update their information to reflect these issues I will amend my score accordingly. ACCESS ISSUES We drove to the property from the north via Route 917. This is approx 25-30km of un surfaced track (hard stone). We had a Nissan X Trail 4x4 but you have to limit your speed to approx 20km/hrs to avoid damaging your vehicle. Allow approx 75 mins to drive the last 25km. When we left we went to thr Rincon De La Vieja national park. This took approx 2.5hrs for about 40km, not the 6min (3.1km) stated in the property details. The route we took was Route 918. This was a mixture of hard stone track and mud. There was one section that had been badly damaged by a lorry driving through with stone for repairs, which left large mud ruts in the middle of the track which our 4x4 just about cleared. This was our worst section of driving when in Costa Rica. We honestly didn't think we would get through it. With regards to the property, it was very nice, nice food, and very pleasant lady cooking and serving the food. It would benefit from a coffee making facility for early risers.

Les femmes qui travaillent aux Cabañas sont très gentilles. La nourriture est super bonne. Le lieu est sympa et très calme.

⚠️ Nous avions réservé cet endroit pour aller au parc national Ricon de la Vieja en vérifiant bien que ce soit proche etc… Déjà pour y accéder (au logement) et pour repartir vous avez 1h de route horrible pas goudronner. Nous nous sommes rendu compte une fois sur place que le volcan est à 2h de route (route pas goudronnée). En regardant bien les avis nous nous rendons compte que nous ne sommes pas les seuls à ne pas avoir pu aller voir le volcan à cause de cela, vous devriez mentionner très clairement dans votre description que le volcan est loin au vu du nombre de commentaire qui le mentionne…

The staff, the quiet and peaceful area. The Cabañas are roomy and comfortable

It is not near the national park and yes, the grave roads are a little challenging in spots Diana and Mary are THE sweetest ladies who always smile and help you

Such a great place to stay. I'll come back. Super comfortable and cozy, super friendly staff and owner and amazing margaritas!! As well as breakfast. Honestly, I loved it.
