Il marchese in piscina

Absolutely beautiful place, beautifully furnished to a very high standard, and spotless on arrival. Mimmo was always available via WhatsApp and waited for us when we arrived. There is a dedicated parking space under a pergola just outside the property, which is also on a private road, so perfectly secure. Peace and quiet throughout the stay. The swimming pool was a lifesaver in the heat, pristinely clean and maintained throughout by Mimmo who popped in a couple of times to check the water quality and cleanliness (he always forewarned us before arrival). The beach is just across the road, perhaps a little rocky for some, but that's a minute price you pay for being away from the crowds, plus more sandy stretches are available a short walk away. You can also drive to nearby San Pietro for a large sandy beach with bars etc., but we appreciated the quiet solitude of the place. TuttiFrutti bar/restaurant is conveniently situated just a short walk along the road if you don't feel like cooking (the kitchen is fully equipped) or exploring nearby towns. Couldn't recommend Il marchese in piscina enough!!!

Nothing. But for full disclosure, one should note that there is (or at least was when we booked) a minor discrepancy on the Booking.com website when it comes to the cash deposit. Ours was 600 euros, but Mimmo forewarned us several days before arrival and provided a signed receipt so there was no doubt it was legitimate, and we were returned the full amount on departure, without a quibble. I only mention it as the sum is (or at least was) not properly advertised on the website. You need to pay extra (but reasonably) for towels and bedding - this is noted on the Booking.com page, but easy to miss. Again, Mimmo was most helpful by reminding us ahead of our departure that this is the case. There is no drinking water, but we have been provided with a huge store of bottled water, so it is not an issue whatsoever, just something to bear in mind.

Beautiful villa, well appointed with everything you would ever need. Lovely pool, sunny and shaded areas to sit outside. Fantastic host. Would definitely recommend.
