Villa Maria

Villa Maria was amazing and we had a wonderful week! Huge, comfortable rooms and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The views were spectacular, I can highly recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise from the front terrace. Giuseppe, our host was so very kind and helpful. He responded very quickly to any questions we had and he recommended some great local restaurants. You would need a car if staying at Villa Maria as it's quite a walk down to Zafferana and incredibly steep walking back up. I guess that's the price you pay for the incredible view! There are a lot of steps up to the front door at the villa so wouldn't really be suitable for guests with mobility issues. Thank you Giuseppe for being so welcoming, your property really is lovely.

The view of the house is amazing, we enjoyed our stay at this good location, spacious, comfortable villa, the central heating is working very well, this is great for the wet winter months of Sicily.

Maison bien équipée, hôte disponible et très réactif. Très bon accueil ! Une bouteille de vin et une corbeille de raisins nous ont été offertes à notre arrivée. Maison située dans les hauteurs, au calme, avec une belle vue. Voiture indispensable.

Poussière volcanique dans la piscine, un aspirateur de piscine serait un vrai plus. Une odeur de gaz se dégageait à chaque fois que la chaudière fonctionnait. Seulement 2 bains de soleil disponibles, 2 supplémentaires seraient appréciables pour profiter de la piscine à plusieurs. Quelques guêpes autour de la piscine et sur la terrasse, des pièges à guêpes seraient utiles.

Our family of four stayed in this villa for 11 nights and oh how we liked the place. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Replied to all our messages quickly. He also adjusted check in, check out times to accommodate our needs- thank you! The villa is huge and spacious, has all you need for the holiday. It is well situated on the hill with beautiful sea views. As it is in the mount Etna's shade, it's very pleasant to sit in the balcony in summer evenings enjoying the view. I recommend getting up early in the morning to see the sunrise too. The villa was very clean. The swimming pool was amazing, it was clean and a big plus to the villa. It was really nice to cool down in it during hot summer days. We did have a car so we could travel a bit. There are few places to see around. There's nearby shops and restaurants too. We all did enjoy our stay and would recommend this place without any hesitation to anyone wanting to stay in Sicily.

Even though there were mosquito nets we did get few bites. This however is expected on holidays and didn't make our holiday any worse.

Absolute Top-Unterkunft, wenn man das pure Sizilien erleben möchte! Die Villa ist mit ihren großzügigen 200 Quadratmetern einfach ein Traum – wahnsinnig viel Platz, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Der Außenpool ist sehr groß, absolut sauber und ebenfalls hervorragend ausgestattet – ideal zum Entspannen nach einem Ausflugstag. Unsere anfänglichen Bedenken bezüglich der Einfahrt zum Haus haben sich schnell in Luft aufgelöst: Spätestens nach der zweiten Fahrt fährt man den Berg problemlos hoch. Wir empfehlen grundsätzlich, auf Sizilien ein kleines Auto zu nehmen – wir hatten einen Fiat Panda mit vier Türen, der war perfekt für die schmalen Straßen und Ausflüge zum Ätna, nach Taormina oder Syrakus. Der Kontakt zur Unterkunft war zudem sehr nett und hilfsbereit – auf alle Fragen wurde schnell und freundlich geantwortet. Von uns gibt es dafür die volle Punktzahl. Viele Grüße, Steph & Markus

To Giuseppe and everyone taking care of this beautiful property – thank you. There were four of us staying at Villa Maria Zafferana, and from the moment we walked in, we were absolutely mesmerised. The villa is even more stunning in person than in the photos – they truly don’t do it justice. The home is beautifully maintained, with charming rustic Italian character throughout. We especially loved the traditional wooden furniture and the gorgeous tiled bathrooms. The outdoor kitchen was a real highlight – rustic, welcoming, and the perfect place to gather and relax. The villa had everything we needed: it was spacious, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The host, Giuseppe, was fantastic – very responsive and helpful, offering great local tips and recommendations. Although we stayed in early May, the pool was already open, which was a lovely bonus!
