Villa Gorno Melnicani

Great host, great location. The view is amazing. The house is accessed via a steep dirt road. We parked our car at the host's house and he took us up the hill in his jeep.

What a perfect paradise this is! We stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect. It is a beautiful, charming old house in a lushes garden with the most stunning view you can imagine. The beds where very comfortable, the shower is good, the kitchen has everything you need to cook dinner during your stay and the pool is perfectly cool for a nice dip during hot summer days. Slave is the best host: super friendly and helpfull! Would absolutely recommend to come and stay.

Sure, the road up is tough: we've seen tough roads before during our travels, but this one is quite a challenge. But we made it (with a Skoda Fabia) and Slave will drive up with you to make sure you arrive safe. It is part of the experience! Just keep in mind that if you haven't got a 4WD, you probably just want to go up and down once, so bring enough food en drinks to last your stay.

We have travelled a lot in our life but this place was like we've never seen before. Like a fairy tale house on a mountain top. With pool. And amazing view. Can't find words to describe this experience! The only thing we regret is that we couldn't stay longer..

The villa has an absolutely amazing view. It’s a gorgeous location and so worth the trip. You have the whole mountain top to yourself. The air is so perfect and refreshing. I read the precious reviews about the road. We rented a small compact car. When you turn off the main road the first part of the road is fine to drive in any vehicle. The owner met us in his 4x4 by his house which is just a little bit up the dirt road. We parked our car there and he drove us in his vehicle to the mountain top. Our car wouldn’t have made it, but it wasn’t a problem because he was so accommodating to drive us up and pick us up at the time we requested the next morning. Everything worked out great and they couple that own the place are lovely. Once you get to the top you really have the whole place to yourself which is both fun and relaxing. The pool is filled with mountain water which is so cool and refreshing during the hot summer days. It’s a lovely villa and I would definitely back again and highly recommend! But if you don’t have a 4x4 contact the host and let him drive you up! You’ll love your little visit with him too. Super friendly. This a dog or two hanging around that you might see but they are both very friendly and just looking for some love.

Villa Gorno Melnicani is a quaint house with astonishing view of Lake Debar. The hosts were very welcoming, a prime example of Balkan hospitality. Everyone who appreciates pure nature should consider visiting this place.

Very bad road to cabin, don't drive with personal car. It's better to walk..

Road to house is not for motorbikes . It must be clear before booking.

Great 360 views towards the lake and mountains, clean, traditional home with wood fire place & wonderful hosts!
