Casa Figueira, Vale de Milho

Lovely spacious villa with all amenities and refurbished bathrooms, which were very swish. It's also in a great location on a quiet road and golf course, not too far from Caroviero centre and beaches. We also had fabulous support from the holiday lettings agents who were very responsive to our queries and our lovely cleaning lady.

The kitchen had all you needed to cook if you wanted to, but was a bit dated. However, it certainly didnt hamper us.

The villa was exactly like the photos. There was plenty of cushions, cutlery, chairs, places to sit and enjoy different areas of the villa. The pool was decent size and the pool cover was easy to use. A manager popped by to make sure everything was okay and gave me the name for the local shop. Very peaceful community if that's what you're looking for. Only a small handful of restaurants which will cater to tourists as there is a resort next door to the shops and restaurants. The neighbours said hello to us when we walked by. They left us some tea bags, milk, ice, biscuits to enjoy. It's very peaceful villa in a quiet neighbourhood. The TV had lots of stations and was easy to cast to YouTube from our phones. Nice speaker for TV or playing some music.

The hob of the oven didn't work so we were limited to using a microwave or oven. I didn't like that they don't leave out extra towels or toilet paper. We had to buy our own toilet paper as we were using it for smell messes, there was only two tea towels which were replaced 3x weekly. No kitchen paper. The gardener came twice and one day he spend 1.5hours and we felt uncomfortable to be outside in the garden while he worked. Maids are very quick though, they were in and out in ten minutes as there was only two people. They request that you remove your own rubbish to the bins outside but they don't give you plastic bags to replace the bin if you empty it. Luckily the maids did this for us. There is only one shop for groceries in walking distance and they charge twice the normal price for a lot of things. Lots of hills - definitely hire a car. Taxis were easy to order on FreeNow but it was €15 if you are going to Portimão. Not a lot to do in the area unless you have a car. Lots of hills. No double beds.
