Unpleasant Experience – Would Not Recommend I honestly don’t know where to begin – this stay was full of mixed emotions, but unfortunately, our overall experience was extremely disappointing. We had chosen this property to celebrate our anniversary, but the host's behavior and the overall service completely ruined it for us. After booking, we messaged the host requesting an early check-in at 2:00 PM instead of the standard 4:00 PM. A day before our arrival, the host responded positively – confirming the early check-in and even congratulating us on our anniversary. However, on the day of our arrival, while we were driving towards the property, we messaged again to inform the host that we would be arriving at 2:00 PM. To our shock, the host suddenly denied the early check-in he had previously confirmed. His tone became extremely rude, and he even threatened to cancel our booking. We showed him the previous chat messages where he had clearly agreed to the early check-in, but he ignored that and continued to misbehave. Things escalated when he stopped responding altogether – he wouldn't take our calls, reply to messages, or even respond to customer support, who also tried reaching out to him multiple times on our behalf. We were left stranded on the road in 43°C heat with nowhere to go. This situation was incredibly stressful and upsetting, especially since we had driven over 315 km to reach the property. At around 3:30 PM, the host casually messaged us saying we could check in at 4:00 PM, as if nothing had happened. By then, we were left with no other option and decided to check in – but unfortunately, the property itself was a huge letdown. Here’s what we found: The swimming pool is nothing like the pictures – it’s tiny and not even suitable for a child. The listing is misleading – it appears to be a 3-bedroom property in the pictures, but it’s actually just 1.5 bedrooms.

We loved the rural tranquillity of this peaceful little village. The house is clean and spacious, with everything we needed in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable too. The garden is nicely laid out with plenty of seating to take advantage of sun throughout the day. It's an ideal location for exploring the countryside and visiting Marvao and Castelo de Vide.

The water flow in the shower could do with upgrading, though the water is hot, you really have to hug the wall to get a shower! The pool looked very inviting but sadly the weather was too cool for us - nothing the owners could do about that.

Perfect location, beautiful nature, a lot of things to do, we love it the 3 days that we stay!

Location.

Excellent location in a tiny rural community- very quiet. Beautiful views in the area. So many interesting walks in the area, including options to walk directly from the property. Outdoor area lovely with opportunities to sit in the sunshine/ shade all day long. Clean with everything listed working well.

The lighting in the lounge was rather dim in the evening.

Quiet and calm, excelent location.
