La Sassaia

We loved the villa and the olive garden around it!

This is the most perfect place to stay for families or couples, comfortable apartment with everything we could need set in beautiful grounds with olive trees, woods and vineyards. The pool was great for cooling off and we struggled to keep our daughter out of it! It was perfect for her as she could run around bare foot and play without us having to be too vigilant as the gated grounds felt secure and safe. The area was peaceful and quiet with little road noise, just the occasional live music from across the valley which was a fab accompaniment to a relaxing afternoon in the garden! Location wise it has several supermarkets within 15 minutes, shops in the nearby town and plenty of restaurants though we didn't eat out. It's a great base to explore northern tuscany and we did day trips to pisa, lucca, Florence, volterra etc with no problems. The host is lovely and bosco and Mia the dogs are absolute softies. There are three apartments but we never felt intruded upon, each has it own outdoor seating area and felt very private. Highly highly recommended

Nothing could have been better it was perfect! (Except for the mosquitos but that's across the whole of Italy you just need to be prepared with mosquito spray!)

Elena was a super kind and helpful host. She even came to pick us up and guide us to the property to avoid road closures. The house and location are gorgeous, in typical Tuscan style and surrounded by typical Tuscan hills. The view from the garden and swimming pool is just amazing. The pool is nice and clean. The apartment was cool, quiet and dark – helping our baby to sleep. We would definitely recommend staying here.

It's quite a rough drive to reach the property, with a steep and sharp turn at the beginning of the street. Not for everyone. We also found the bed and pillows to be a bit uncomfortable (springy), but that's personal preference I suppose.

Everything was perfect! Elena the host was so friendly and helpful. We loved everything about our stay. Will surely see us again!

Wi-fi could be better but its a mountain area so meant to relax / disconnect .

There is everything you need to just relax. Location is ideal for trips to Florence, Pisa, Siena or other locations around. Elena and her husband are really nice and their dogs Bosco and Mia were so friendly. Nice garden with olive trees, kitchen with everything you need, super comfortable beds, nice bath room, washing machine. Really discreet place when you can take rest. 🙂

Tranquil and peaceful place, ideal spot for a relaxing holiday. Elena is an exceptional host, welcoming and thoughtful, and the accommodation cozy and well equipped. It couldn't have been any better!
