The Beach House - West Coast Mauritius

beachfront and very spacious

1. main entrance gate defect . motor not working and we have had to each time open and close gate manually . 2. on your website , it says daily housekeeping , but locally they provided housekeeping on tuesday and thursday only . 3. since day 1 , no hot water was available in all 3 bathrooms. we reported same ,and plumber request to change the whole water system. we had vulnerable people with us but still nothing has been done . 4. the television signal was poor and we could barely see. 5. the villa lacks security .

Fabulous location, beautifully designed home with fun toys such as kayaks and pool table and nice swimming from the beach. Next door is the excellent Bay Hotel restaurant.

The grounds of the house is open to people who maintain a corporate and private boat - there was noisy engine repair and sanding work during our stay which impacted on the peace. If the grounds of the property are open to non-guests this should be disclosed before you book. The kitchen is not well enough equipped - needs full set of crockery, can-opener and more

The localization could not be any better. Fantastic view, swimming pool for kids.

This house had a real wow factor when we entered, exceeding our expectations from the photos. The Beach House was just that: on the beach. It’s in a fantastic location with stunning views out to the reef and ocean beyond. The house is amazingly spacious, light and airy with plenty of covered outside space for eating and relaxing in the shade. The pool is large and clean. A big plus for us was that the house is next door to the delightful Bay hotel restaurant and in walking distance of several good restaurants. The relatively quiet beach was ideal for swimming and snorkelling (but watch out for the sea urchins). We really enjoyed using the kayaks that came with the house to explore out to the reef. Herman, the host, could not have been more helpful, giving us restaurant recommendations and organising a fantastic trip to go swimming with dolphins.

Some aspects were rather basic, such as the lack of mirrors in bathrooms and bedrooms, the minimal cooking facilities for the size of house (a 2 burner gas hob) and the lack of sun loungers. However, these were small points in a very enjoyable stay.
