The Furnas Azores House

Very well suited for young families : baby crib and high chair, books for 3-5 year olds, baby gates, fenced-in yard. Lots of towels for showering as well as dark towels for the hot springs. Great balcony with view of the steam rising from the Caldeiras. There seems to be an unofficial cat living here : he often paid us a visit when the doors were open! Very friendly, our toddler loved him!

Beds were very stiff. Because the kitchen and living room are on different floors, it was a bit hard to cook while letting the kids play - however this setup (floor 1 : kitchen + bathroom + bedroom 1 ; basement : living room + 2 bedrooms + bathroom) was on the house description but just in case you did not see it.

Great location, beautiful views. Clean, spacious and well appointed. Very enjoyable.

The house was perfect: Very confortable. Nice kitchen, modern interiour and good rooms. Nice views from the balcony. Good beds. Location in Furnas was perfect to do sightseeing both at the northern part of the island (nice walks over there and scenic coastal route) and the south part of the islands (villa Franca island)

The town of Furnas itself was a bit dissapointing.: Only small supermarkets, limited number of restaurants and for most of the activities there was an entree fee. So it felt too much touristic in that sense for us.

A beautiful view with the hills and the steam rising from the calderas of Furnas. Quiet area away from the main centre of the town. The house was well equipped for families, with a crib, baby gate, high chair. Parking was easy, directly in front of the house. Gary and Flavia were friendly and quick to respond to our questions.

It's a very big hill down to Furnas. It's possible to walk, but more comfortable to drive down to the town. A comfortable sofa in the kitchen area would have been perfect for relaxing after dinner.

well suited for our young family. baby Gates were installed at top and bottom of staircase, crib was ready and high chair also. amazing view from kitchen table- it was lovely staring at the rolling hills during breakfast. washer dryer was also a plus and kitchen was well stocked. also very clean.

welcome binder could have had a few more details including how to use washer dryer for non Portuguese speaking people... also what to do in the event that a fuse is blown? power went out on our first morning after using a faulty toaster. luckily Gary answered his phone promptly and talked us through it.

Great location in Furnas with stunning views. Lovely, clean, spacious house with excellent facilities. Great to have a new washing machine which is also a tumble dryer. Covered outside clothes line, great to have given it rained when we were there. Flexible check in with clear instructions on how to access the house. Very helpful and accommodating host.
