Formal Refund Request & Complaint ​Subject: Urgent: Refund Request for Reservation [Insert Booking Number] – Misrepresentation and Safety Concerns ​To whom it may concern, ​I am writing to formally request a full refund for my stay at [Property Name] from [Check-in Date] to [Check-out Date]. I have been forced to cancel my reservation due to several major discrepancies between the listing and the actual property, as well as significant safety concerns. ​1. Critical Safety & Access Issues The listing did not accurately describe the road conditions. The access road is extremely rugged and dangerous. Despite having a standard SUV, I became stuck on the hill. This property is inaccessible without a dedicated 4x4 or heavy-duty pickup, a fact that was not disclosed. ​2. Major Functional Failures ​No Water Pressure: The shower is unusable due to a complete lack of water pressure. ​Broken Amenities: The washing machine is out of order. ​Health & Comfort: The bedroom has an overwhelming smell of fresh paint fumes and the interior temperature is excessively high, making it uninhabitable. ​3. Misrepresentation of Property The "beach" area is in poor condition and cluttered with boats, unlike the clear views advertised. Furthermore, the decor on the sand and porch shown in the listing photos is entirely missing. ​The property was not as described, and the lack of safe access made staying there impossible. Since the owner has declined a direct refund, I am requesting that Booking intervene to process my reimbursement based on these documented violations of the description and basic hospitality standards. ​I have photos and videos documenting the road and the state of the property to support this claim.

La personne qui communique en amont via booking. Pas compréhensive par rapport au fait qu'on ne peut pas payer le van en ligne en étant dans le pays vu que la banque envoie un code sur nos tél français!! On a demandé une autre solution pour payer sur place et elle ne faisait que répondre "essayez encore" ou "vous pouvez booker un van de votre côté". Personne pas du tout sympathique ni aidante. Et au final le matin même alors qu'on a remué ciel et terre pour trouver un van (on était quand même avec 3 enfants) par nous même nous dit que notre van est prêt et bataille quand on lui dit qu'on ne le veut pas vu qu'on a trouvé par nous même

Wir hatten einen Transfer vom Flughafen bestellt. Jedoch kam niemand um uns abzuholen. Man teilte uns mit, dass sie davon ausgingen, dass der Flug aufgrund des soeben vorbeigezogenen Taifun nicht durchgeführt werde. Nach langem hin und her wurde dann mitgeteilt, dass nicht nur die Zufahrt nicht möglich war, sondern das Gebäude durch den Taifun auch beschädigt wurde. Wir haben Verständnis, dass die Unterkunft durch den Taifun beschädigt wurde und uns keine Option angeboten werden konnte. Schade, dass wir nicht unverzüglich informiert sondern noch einen ganzen Tag hingehalten wurden!

Wonderfully placed on the beach in a fisherman's village. You are truly deep down in the Philippine world. Very simple and very authentic. Rhea, who took care of us and our needs, is a total gem. She makes the whole thing work and helps get over all the little drawbacks. She is even able to provide meals if needed. We were there for four days and fell in love with her. The bay is beautiful, the water clear. You are in another world. If you can live a simple life, we recommend coming.

You are in a very basic situation. Even though the house has three bedrooms with two double beds each and can house up to 12 people (we were only two), there is only one bathroom that is not working very well. The toilet has problems at times, and the cold shower just dribbles. You have to be willing to live VERY simply. The internet works quite well most of the time but needs to be paid for.

Amazing beach, great bay view, secluded area

Accommodation is very poor, water pressure does not exist, and no decent showers can be taken. No closet, nowhere to put your clothes. NO AIR-CONDITIONING, no restaurants around. there are very poor and dirty shops nearby, but nothing decent can be bought there. The drive to get to the hut (it's a very rundown hut, not a villa) is in a rough dirt road for 14 kilometers! And it took about 40 minutes (!) Each way. And we had a 4x4 pickup truck... There is NO CELLULAR RECEPTION OF ANY KIND, the WIFI provided is slow, and cost money...daily. Be prepared to roughing it. It is a tiring stay.

excellent location right on the beachfront, but it is not easy to get there you can buy groceries in the town if you wish to cook on your own or from the small shops in the village since the cottage is in a fishing village, you can also buy various type of fresh fish from the local fisherman the food prepared by Rhea for dinner was very delicious and the portion size was good special mention to Rhea and Aldrin who made our stay as comfortable as possible

property and facility needs updating certain windows can't be opened as it is rusty the washing machine is also in a terrible shape

We loved everything at this cottage. I stayed here along with my friends & we had such a lovely at the cottage & at the beautiful beach. All thanks to Rhea & Aldrin. Rhea was an exceptional host. Rhea made sure we were comfortable at the cottage every day by visiting us and making sure we had everything we need. It was an amazing experience living in this fishermen’s village amongst locals who were so humble & welcoming. We decided to cook our own food while staying at this property & did a bit of shopping in El Nido city before we could get to the cottage. There are 2 local stores in the village 200 metres away from the cottage that you could buy food, snacks, drinks, poultry & essentials. As we decided to have a BBQ night we even managed to buy fresh caught fish from a local fishermen in front of our cottage. This amazing experience we had at the cottage could not have been without Rhea. Thank you Rhea.

Fisherman's Cottage El Nido is quite a long bumpy and dusty drive/ride to get to the location. As this village is isolated they do not have phone signal/network and you need to purchase Wi-Fi which I felt was expensive and owner/management should have included the Wi-Fi with the stay.

My family and I had a wonderful time thanks to the kindness and courtesy of Rhea and Justin. It is a wonderful lodge to unwind, relax and enjoy. We take a piece of the Philippines home with us because Rhea and Justin will always be in our hearts.
