Villa Ferreirinha

Wonderful location up on the eastern side of Flores and just ten minutes from the airport by car. Amazing views from the villa and the nearby viewpoint called Parque de Merendas da Caveira. Easy access to small roads and paths if you like walking. A short drive will take you directly to the breathtaking Reserva Florestal Natural do Morro Alto e Pico da Se. The villa itself is very comfortable and bright. Plenty of space to settle in and relax. The garden is beautiful and fragrant. Very quiet location and lots of clean sea air! Great sunrises. Régine was an extremely helpful and friendly host. Great memories!

The village of Caveira is picturesque, but it lacks any shops. Make sure you stock-up before leaving Santa Cruz das Flores. Régine kindly went shopping for some essentials before we arrived, which was greatly appreciated. Taxi rides are expensive (15 euros for just over 5 miles from the airport to the villa), car rentals are roughly double the price you'd expect to pay elsewhere. We were aware of this before we travelled. Reality is that visiting a small quiet island means one should not expect too much in terms of services and amenities. It didn't stop us thoroughly enjoying our trip but a bit of forward planning is necessary before landing at the airport. Book your taxi in advance as there may be none waiting at the taxi rank, and make sure you communicate with your driver as flights to and from the island can be subject to last minute changes, which could disrupt your pick-up (taxi drivers are heavily booked and may need to move on to another appointment if you're late). The lovely and spatious house is on a great location, with oceanview and a lovely garden. It is very quiet, and the owner is also very friendly. Not too far from Santa Cruz. Too bad we had to leave...

The property is conveniently located next to Santa Cruz das Flores (less than a 10-min drive to the city), it has stunning views of the sea and of Santa Cruz das Flores, and it faces the rising sun. You can watch beautiful sunrises from the house. In my opinion, the house is placed in the best area of the island in terms of the weather (this is the sunniest part of the island) and as to the proximity to supermarkets/restaurants, etc. The house itself is very spacious, with plenty of natural light, and gorgeous views of the garden and sea. It is equipped with all the appliances to cook. We cooked our breakfasts and prepared some meals, and it was great, we felt we were at home. We want to come back to Flores in the future and we want to stay again in Villa Ferreirinha. The host is also really nice and helpful!

Nice house with great views, the kitchen is good and well equiped, also with a nice and spacious living room. The room was comfortable.

The toilet shower was good but not so big. No shower soap or shampoo is provided.

This was stylish and spacious accomodation with a beautiful view.

It was difficult to fully heat all rooms in winter.

We loved everything. Our host was very professional and punctual. The house was gorgeous and quiet enough for big family or only two of us. Villa is located right above the ocean and by amazing unforgettable views. Sunrise and sunset could be seen from our windows. The layout of the place was very nice. Extremely clean and tastefully decorated. It was a huge bonus to have all appliances - like at own home ! The host offers everything you could ever need for a comfortable, wonderful stay. Thank you for hosting us!
