Villa Olu

We’re a family of 5 who stayed at Villa Olu from 22nd to 28th May. The villa is situated in a quiet location walking distance to Radisson Blu hotel and a tuktuk ride to Galle Fort, Unawatuna beach and many other attractions. We had an absolutely fabulous stay and left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed and will definitely return again. Kumara and team were absolutely fantastic, they cooked a delicious breakfast every morning of fruit and eggs and freshly squeezed juices/coconuts; they even made pancakes on request. We had dinner in the villa 3 nights, where we had the most amazing Sri Lankan curry twice and Thai Curry. Kumara can even make many western dishes including a Sunday Roast with all the trimmings and Yorkshire puddings if you like that. The villa is located on a strip of breach, the waves were choppy but the sound was very relaxing and we watched the most beautiful sunset from the pergola while the children swam in the pool. The team arranged massages for us and recommended we visit Vijay beach to see the turtles and jungle beach to see the monkeys, which we did, and honestly the turtles swimming on the shore line were a highlight of the holiday. We attended the surf school in the nearby Dewata beach and we all managed to stand on the board. We truly had the best vacation and cannot thank Mark the owner enough for arranging the transfers and allowing early and late check out. Kumara and team were absolutely fantastic, discreet and professional and always went above and beyond to truly make the trip something we will never forget. We look forward to visiting again soon - the Baruni-Clark Family, British family from Dubai.

A pretty property, feels safe, helpful kind staff, a fairly practical location and a decent price for the number of rooms

No electricity for most of the first day and no back up generator, nearby beach is unfortunately dirty, outdoor furniture is not clean, a lot of the place seems quite dated and in need of a refurb

Villa manager and chef were very accommodating. The meals provided were all delicious, and the villa was lovely. The pool and room setup was great for a big group, and we appreciated the ability to have the staff do laundry.

Location is awkward to get to with a bigger group as the bus can't fit down the narrow road. Some recent leaks had caused issues with raised floorboards and water on fans. Not having a contact number for the villa manager prior to arriving at the villa to coordinate our stay, given the host is located overseas. The host was confrontational with our guide who enquired around tourism standard accommodation for driver and guides and threatened to cancel multiple times. We were engaged in this argument when it was outside of our control and just wanted to enjoy our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful oceanfront villa. It’s incredibly spacious and has all the home comforts you could ask for, including a fantastic large pool. What really sets this place apart, though, is the wonderful staff. A special thank you to Kumara and Satchit, who looked after us so well and cooked us some truly amazing meals.

The location is a bit remove and far from Mirissa , but it’s perfect if you plan to stay mostly at the villa.

Amazing Villa with incredible stuff. Kumara and Sachith made our holidays unforgettable. Food was one of the best especially seafood BBQ, fish, lasagna… Villa is really spacious and clean, also pool is huge. Views from Villa to ocean fantastic. Location is really quiet, but also not far from Galle old town. We all liked it very much and definitely come back to Villa Olu.

Property was great and as described. The staff surpassed our expectations and were amazing.

Everything about the Villa and its location were perfect. The photographs do not do it justice. The rooms were huge and sumptuous. The bathrooms luxurious. The high ceilings and colonial style were stunning. The spaciousness of the Villa is difficult to describe. There is a study, a small gym, massive downstairs space . But the real gems of the place are the staff Kumara and Sajith. They made the holiday wonderful. Two more charming and kind people I have not met in a holiday setting. If you want a tropical paradise in a perfect location with staff who know how to pamper you then you've found the best place on the West Coast of Sri Lanka. I can not recommend it highly enough.
