"Superb"

9.0

Beautiful villa, pool and communal areas for family to spend time together. The view every morning was amazing. Food and service at the hotel was excellent.

We stayed in the very highest villa so understandably the water pressure wasnt great. It made it quite difficult to shower! Minor thing but annoying.

"Very good"

8.0

Spacious room comfortable bed and private infinity pool, lovely grounds/walkway to the room. Small kitchen area and seating area. Beautiful sunrise views. Great free breakfast. Great lunch and dinner menu. Close to amazing snorkeling, easy walk or arrange a free shuttle pick up. The resort arranged for a wonderful driver to pick us up at the port Kadek Pena. He was wonderful, knew the areas so well, spoke very good English and was very friendly. We actually hired him to take us for a day tour. HIGHL:Y recommend the Gryia Resort hires him at every opportunity.

There wasn’t much in the way of vegan options.

More vegan options on the menu.

"Great on paper only"

3.0

The breakfast was hearty, the infinity pool was gorgeous as well. The staff was overwhelmingly warm and friendly though there were occasions where they felt slightly unprofessional / poorly trained. The villa was gigantic as well and the water dispenser was a welcome touch.

While the concept of being immersed in nature was definitely appealing, in reality it felt more like being invaded by nature. Not only did toads crawl up our villa, but the villa was infested by mosquitoes. The room was (almost quite literally) crawling with mosquitoes, in large part due to the poor management of stagnant water (and trash - we saw empty cola bottles) around the estate. Hygiene could have also been better - we arrived at the villa greeted by a dead moth and droppings on the sun bed. Dead millipedes were also noted under the pool. While the villa design was definitely very appealing on paper, in practice, the design highlighted a distinct lack of thought for practicality. The outdoor-only shower meant that showers were not accessible when it was raining. The lack of cover also meant we were unable to get to the living area when the weather was not ideal. The aircon also seemingly did not work (we were sweating despite the settings being put at 18 degrees celcius) and the sleeping area was incredibly dark (even when all the lights are on). The wifi also did not seem to work well, and was intermittently unusable. We appreciated very much the complimentary emerald treatment, though the descriptors were rather vague. When trying it out in-person, it essentially became a session for the blood thirsty mosquitoes to feed on us while we laid in a hot and humid spa area.

"Exceptional"

10.0

My fiance and I stayed 3 nights which I recommend as it takes a while to get there from other points of the island. The room was very spacious including a private pool with a sea view! Both the living room and bedroom opened to the pool. I literally jumped from bed to the pool at sunrise- such a treat! The staff we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful. Overall we really loved our Griya & Amed experience. There's a beach just minutes away with excellent snorkeling. The town is small & we found some good restaurants & massages for great prices! Definitely try the tiny yet gorgeous Barina rice terrace look-out for a fried banana and ginger tea & incredible views(it's on your way into town). We also rented a scooter to get around the various beaches and sites, even making our way to Virgin Beach. Amed is a incredibly relaxing place with laidback vibes and Griya Villa is a perfect home base to explore.

No complaints! We didn't try all the amenities but we really enjoyed our stay.

"Absolutely wonderful"

10.0

Staff all amazing in fact beyond expectations. The group I was with could not fault one meal we had there they were all incredible . The service was outstanding and all staff deserve commendation for customer service.

This relates to villas owners only for recommendation They really need to look at hand rails on all the stairs into reception up to restaurant and to gym / spa. I don’t think any type of rail would be invasive to the ascetic of the resort. It’s about safety of stairs and I found them quite confronting and I am not in any way unable to climb stairs. There is also only a small umbrella for shade around the pool and no outdoor table and chairs .
