We recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa Rustica in Herzegovina, and it was nothing short of an idyllic escape. Nestled in a tranquil setting, this beautiful villa offers an unparalleled opportunity to unwind and connect with nature, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the villa's stunning architecture. The rustic charm is highlighted by its abundant use of wood and natural stone, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every corner of the villa is thoughtfully designed, exuding both elegance and comfort. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the exquisite pool area. Surrounded by lush greenery, it was the perfect spot for our family to relax and soak up the sun. Our kids splashed around happily, while our dog joyfully explored the expansive outdoor space. The absence of nearby houses and people allowed us to truly relish the serenity and privacy of the villa. Our experience was further enriched by the generous hospitality of the owner, Josip. He welcomed us with an array of delightful domestic aperitifs, local wines, and an incredible homemade lunch that was truly one of the best meals we've ever had. It was a wonderful introduction to the flavors of the region, and it set the tone for our entire stay. Josip’s kindness and attentiveness made us feel right at home. He was always available to offer recommendations for local attractions and activities, ensuring we made the most of our time in this beautiful area. Overall, our stay at Villa Rustica was a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and family bonding. We left with our hearts full and memories that we will cherish forever. Without a doubt, we highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, and we can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience. The overall cleanliness and condition of the accommodation were problematic. The accommodation was only superficially cleaned. In the kitchen, we found encrusted dirt, crumbs under the grill, dishes in the cabinets covered with a thick layer of dust, and the dishwasher and washing machine were dirty and smelled bad. The are no mattress covers on the mattresses. The garden and terrace were cluttered with various items and junk. The accommodation urgently needs a refresh. Room and closet doors did not close properly, and our 8-year-old son got a splinter in his finger from rubbing against the door frame. Kitchen drawers fell out of the cabinet when you pulled them open. The pool filter was not programmed to turn on. On our second day, it was still off at 11:00 AM, causing the pool to be full of dead flies, grasshoppers, spiders, and salamanders. It was only after two phone calls that the key holder came in the afternoon to turn on the filter. Throughout the week, no one cleaned the bottom of the pool even once. There was no coffee machine, toaster, or pan. We filed a complaint with the owner who let us know we need to liaise with the cleaning lady which we did, but she barely spoke English and responded indifferently and didn’t clean anything. The price charged for this accommodation (2095 euros for one week in July 2024) is outrageous given the deplorable state of the house.

The lady that was taking care of us was great, always there in 15 minutes or less to take care of the minor issues we had.

The fact that there’s only about ten homes in the village, the peace, the outside is great and obviously the pool.

Very easy, owner was there on arrival after calling with 10mins notice in advance.

Staircase and top landing was tight with two kids under the age of 3.
