Pantheon & Danae Luxury Villas

We were staying in Danae (the pink villa !) and had a wonderful peaceful holiday. The villa was comfortable, clean, and had more than enough space for the six of us. Its located just off the main road opposite a lovely, very traditional, taverna - but you wouldn't have known the road was there for the most part. And Lefkada is such a beautiful island - Danae overlooks the idyllic harbour town of Syvota which is a five minute car ride away and its only 15 minutes south to Vasiliki or a similar time north up to Nidri so really well positioned for getting out and about. The three bedrooms (one double, two twins) all had their own en-suite bathroom; comfortable beds; doors leading outside; and excellent AC. And plenty of space for clothes too. The property was cleaned twice during our 11 night stay which was much appreciated. The upstairs area was light and airy with three different balconies all with spectacular views - comfortable lounge and dining areas and a good kitchen with large fridge freezer; plus a dish washer too. Outside, the pool area was fine - six beds and a couple of sun shades - and the pool was cleaned every day so was spotless. The double bedroom leads out to the pool area and had a well positioned table and chairs on a little patio area. Perfect for a cool ouzo as the sun started to "cool" in the late afternoon... The gardens were well kept and watered every morning - the lavender behind the pool smelt wonderful and the limes on the lime tree were huge ! Throughout we had regular dialogue with the owners - and any questions we had were answered quickly and positively; the service we had was brilliant. Thank you Panorea and Costas. Overall, just what we needed for our holiday - there's still lots we want to do in Lefkada and would definitely have a stay at the Danae as part of any return visit to the island.

There was nothing specific we didn't like - and were really bemused by some of the other reviews that have been left. The villa we stayed in was comfortable, clean, and as depicted in the photos. WiFi was a little patchy at times but always usable - but then so was the 4G mobile signal; neither a surprise given our location !

This is basically a fully equipped house with private pool. There was not a thing we were missing (only perhaps a microwave?). The pool was regularly cleaned and topped-up. All doors and windows have mosquito nets.

Driveway is closed with large metal gate that had to be opened/closed manually. It was a bit tricky to safely drive through because the turnoff is on the bend and someone always had to get out of the car to open the door.

The house owners provided a second sun umbrella of normal size upon our urgent request.

We cannot recommend to rent the Pantheon Villa where we have just spent two weeks. The quality standard did not at all meet our expectations. In general, the house is old and not well maintained since probably 20 years. This was not visible from the photos provided and definitely not expected by us due to the very high price for this rental house. Most of the furniture/equipment has to be replaced in our opinion, also kitchen utilities and toilet brushes (which were dark brown!). From all three bathrooms only one was rather modern and of normal size but not yet finished: even there cables coming out of the walls, untidy and rusty bathroom fittings. Shower cabin was very small with missing door handle. All doors in the house cannot be opened and closed without any problems and awful noise. Curtain rails were crooked. The sofa was uncomfortable. Especially disappointing was the pool area with one of the sun loungers completely broken (and has not been disposed of!), only one tiny sun umbrella and the view to a very untended part of the garden/backyard of the house. The pool cleaning itself was only started by the house owners on the fourth day of our stay. The street directly in front of the house is noisy and busy the whole day and half of the night: about 10 cars, motor bikes, trucks and buses per minute. No relaxing sleep possible despite of all windows closed and use of earplugs. We regret for the first time in our lives that we spent a summer holiday abroad. Quality of rental houses and price-performance ratio are much more appropriate in other European areas according to our experience. Never again Lefkada.
