Villa Florencio by Algarve Holidays

Property was nice,view was stunning

Management company who rent villa were horrendous,I will never book another villa managed by algarve holidays. They turned a family reunion into an endurance challenge. They requested damage deposit 3 months before arrival at villa, I couldn’t understand how this could be justified and refused to pay until a few days before we arrived. I was then bombarded with over 40, emails and text messages from management. At one stage I even told them if they didn’t stop harassing me I would cancel, which they did until cancellation period was over. We paid 210 euros for pool heating, as we had grandchildren with us, the pool pump was insufficient to heat the size of pool and it had no cover, hence kids never got to use it,when we complained to management company they just made excuses and refused to even consider any sort of refund. The villa had no heating on ground floor, the images showed an open fire, but on arrival it said not in use only for decoration,management representative said she would arrange for an oil radiator to be provided,but it never appeared. Basin leaked and toilet seat were broken, but were repaired when we reported this,although we were told management were busy handling other more serious emergencies.On the day we arrived we were told if we wanted pool towels we would have to pay 3euros per person first we heard about this,surely a villa with a pool should provide towels, little did we know we wouldn’t be able to use the pool anyway ,even the representative that met us confirmed the pool was freezing and though it had only just been turned on,but it never got any warmer. I have rented holiday properties all over the world and have even owned my own holiday business but I have never encountered a company like this. If I owned this villa I would rethink my management company and I will certainly advise anybody if they want a relaxing holiday avoid this company.

The space was excellent for us because we wanted enough room not to get in each others way, although we needed a strict 2 people only in the kitchen rule when preparing food. The pool was lovely , even though it was winter and it was cold, we went in most days for some exercise and its a really good size for a decent swim with a fantastic view! The pool table was a bonus and provided some nice healthy family competition. The outside dining and leisure areas were really nicely thought out and if dining in the evening then the sunset view is incredible. The location is peaceful and quiet ( mostly)

I have 2 issues with this property that I feel I should mention. The first is that the 'blurb' specifies 'there is a fire place for colder evenings' which was one of the attractions for us as we all love a real fire , however when we arrived there was a notice by the fire saying that it was for decoration only , even though it looked as though it had been used. This was a real disapointment and it should be removed from the advert. The other thing was the constant barking of the neighbours dog. It barked all day and all night, being shut up in a little courtyard. Occasionally he would stop and we would get some peace but by the last day we ended up leaving early as it was just too much to bear. We did ask whether there was anything they could do to maybe 'have a word' but apparenlty 'because the property is in the countryside they is nothing they can do'. Personally this is the only thing that would stop me coming from this property again, as fabulous as it was.

Beautiful view and well equipped

1 of the rooms does not have air conditioning witch might be an issue during summer nights need to leave door open all the time

Well located in a peaceful area while having a great sea view. House itself is very large with 3 bedrooms upstairs (one with en-suite bathroom) and another bathroom, 1 room downstairs, bathroom, living room with 2 sofa beds and kitchen. Outside a big swimming pool, sun beds dining tables and grill. The kitchen is well equipped with two fridges, capsule coffee machine, washing machine and dish washer plus plenty of pans, pots and utensils you can possibly need. We spend a good time here with our family and would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere and surrounded by nature.

There’s a few things the owner could get sorted to make this location perfect, as installing air conditioner downstairs (both living room and bedroom), during the summer you can get temperatures well above 30 degrees Celsius and it’s pretty difficult to sleep. Also outside the lights go off after midnight, so if you’re thinking having a couple of drinks and enjoy the warmth nights you’ll do it in the darkness as they are operated through a timer that guests have no access.

Absolutely wonderful Villa with amazing views. The villa is very clean and very spacious. The pool is great, the whole family loved it. The pictures don't do it justice! Very close to the Airport. We wanted somewhere quiet and this was an ideal location. We were met by the letting agent Joao after midnight and he was very good and explained the details very efficiently. Highly recommended 👌

Nice house and quiet surroundings. Swimming pool is great: water temperature, size (deep!). Easy to find with navigation. Good host (quick response if you have a question).
