Maison d'Olivier

From first booking, communication was flawless, the host is amazing and happy to answer any questions about the accomodation and surrounding area, places to go etc and is prompt in doing so. Clear communications before departure, with Google Maps link sent – on arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown around the accomodation... the host had provided the basics to get us started, some Raki, and other wonderful goodies that I won't spoil. The accomodation has everything you need if you want to cook and has Netflix also if you have time to watch it. Rooms were clean, Beds are probably the best I have slept on in any 5* hotel. I have a bad back and slept as well as I do at home! Pool is cleaned everyday, but you wont see anyone doing it! The hosts are wonderful people and cannot do enough for you.

Beautiful place to stay. So clean and comfortable, with everything you could want for. But the most wonderful part was Marianna and her family, kind, considerate and generous above and beyond. They were there to greet us on arrival, and left us lovely home grown figs and vegetables, eggs and other goodies. And helped hugely when we needed to find a doctor in the nearby town. The Villa was located in a lovely quiet spot, but just a walk from the nearest beach. The pool and beautifully maintained every day and the whole place was immaculately clean. Perfect. Thank you, we will be back. 😊

Everything was perfect 🤩

Villa at the highest level, nothing was missing. We had a great time and Marianna and her family are really great, will definitely come back again. Their hospitality goes beyond that. They shared fresh eggs and produce from the garden, the pool was cleaned daily. We found all kinds of food and beach recommendations at the villa. I recommend it to everyone who is wondering, it's really worth it!

I recently stayed at Maison D'Olivier in Gerani and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Crete. The location was perfect for us, as we were looking for a place within walking distance to the lovely village of Gerani and its the beachfront restaurant and bar. It was also easy to walk to the beach and take a dip whenever we wanted. The convenience of being able to walk into town for a bite to eat or a drink in one of the local cafes was a huge plus, and we appreciated the fact that it was only a 10-minute drive to the beautiful old town of Rethymno. It also allowed us easy access to the beautiful beaches south of the island with most of them being just 45 minutes drive away. Marianna and her father Giorgios who run the villa were so kind and welcoming during our stay, and we were lucky enough to enjoy fresh vegetables and eggs from their garden. They were always available to answer any questions we had, but also respected our privacy and allowed us to feel at home. We arrived late, due to the timing of our ryanair flight, but this was no problems to our hosts, who welcomed us on arrival and got us settled in in no time. The villa itself was comfortable, clean and felt like a true 'home away from home'. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the pool and the barbeque area. We spent many afternoons lounging around the pool, and even cooked up a few meals on the barbeque - which was cleaned and ready to use upon our arrival and the day after as well. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely return again.

Fabulous stay and look forward to coming back soon. The house, pool and outside space is beautiful. Restaurants within walking distance of the house, vibrant Rethynmo 10 mins drive away and Lidl 5 mins drive away. From the moment we arrived to the warmest of welcomes to leaving with baggage full of gifts of their own produced olive oil, olives, ouzo etc, this family have gone over and beyond of what we expected. The house is exceptionally comfomfortable even with 4 adults milling around, beautifully decorated and every small detail has been thought of. Soap and shampoo in the bathroom, dish washer tablets, washing machine pods, washing up liquid and a plentiful supply of fresh fruit from their own gardens. These little touches make such a difference. The family live upstairs but you would never know they are around as it is very private. Separate entrance and parking area. The pool and outside space was fabulous. sun on the pool until late afternoon. Weber BBQ at your disposal and to our delight it was cleaned for us after we had used it, unexpected but how good is that! Our thanks to you Marianna and your delightful family for making it such a great stay!

The local beach isnt great but everything else makes up for it. There are lovely sandy beaches less than 5 minutes drive away with plenty of beach side restaurants to choose from.
