Bingin Castaways

The villa was well laid out and comfortable. The pool area was lovely with beautiful planting. The Frangipani flowers were special. The thing that really made our stay was the amazing service provided by Desi, Komang and the other members of the team. Breakfast was an ideal start to the day and very relaxed. Desi was able to help with other requirements like drivers and scooter hire recommendations etc. The location is generally tucked away in Bingin but an easy walk to Bingin beach but we would recommend a scooter to get to other beaches around Bingin. For swimming nearby Dreamland is a great choice as it is mainly sandy compared to Bingin which has a small strip of sand and is then mainly reef. Padang Padang Beach has sand and reef. We would recommend exploring the Bukkit on a moped, Greenbowl beach is lovely but you earn it on the stairs down and back up again...Puri Uluwatu is a must visit temple and is 20 mins on a scooter don't miss the kecuk, fire dance and 'naughty monkeys'. Coming from the UK Bali was a different world to us, sharing the villa with gecko's was a highlight as was the birdsong at dawn. Overall we rate the villa as an 9 out of 10. Desi and friends turned this all the way up to 11.

Breakfast was lovely, although the selection was smaller than what is listed online it was fresh and delicious. The villa is beautiful and comfortable. The staff were outstanding. So kind, friendly and accommodating. They arranged for some washing to be done for us. (Cash payment only) Thank goodness for the Cashew Tree. We ate all our lunch and dinner meals here as they take credit card payments and everything was super delicious. Watching the sunset from the cliffs was spectacular.

Unfortunately the location was not as great as we expected. The road to the beach is permanently closed due to a private development. This did limit us to Bingin Beach as the only walkable beach. The other thing that caught us out was the lack of card facilities at restaurants. We found only 2 restaurants that accept card paymnts (between Castaways and Bingin Beach). There is also no ATM walking distance to access cash. The one mini mart that does take card payments has a limited variety of snacks, nothing we could pull together for even a light lunch.
