Amaka Villas

The property was well maintained and had a great pool. The evening turndown service was a nice addition to the stay. The team were friendly and always willing to help with any requests.

The construction noise that we were notified of wasn’t as bad as we expected and barely impacted the stay at all so that was a plus.

Couldn’t be more perfect. We loved our days here. Location wad very convenient, staff absolutely amazing and the villa itself was a dream. So well decorated, super spacious and the bed was super comfy. We would’ve extend our stay if they had availability. Thank you all the staff for everything, hope to be back in the future.

Design and vibe of the property was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Located close to current construction which wasn’t great. Also a loud cockerel kept waking us up at 4AM.

The staff was very helpful and attentive. The villa was very nice and the location rather (still) quiet - but there are many new hotels being built all around. The bed was very comfortable, the cleaning service and facilities were excellent.

The only thing that was very unfortunate was that in the bathroom, although it is open, there is an intense stench coming from the pipes. This should not be the case at this price.

This self catering villa is beautiful. Onsite housekeeping and maintenance staff are very nice and do their best to help you resolve problems. As well someone is available on what’s app if you have bigger issues. I was there in rainy season so may not have had the best experience. I had more than the usual number of geckos and frogs both inside and outside the bedroom - kept me up most of the night - but I guess that’s part of the experience. The kitchen and bathroom are outside so it was easy for these creatures to slip into the bedroom anytime the doors were opened in the evening. Noisy construction surrounded the villa in daytime and the road is all dug up and muddy from the rains making it impossible to walk anywhere. No stores or restaurants nearby. Grab is a good cheap option to get into the main areas. I believe the villa was discounting the rooms for the construction issue. If the weather had been better and I was able to leave the villa for longer periods during the day - it might have been more enjoyable. I contacted the hotel to indicate I would be checking out early due to the construction noise - I appreciated that they be refunded me for the unused nights immediately. I just wish the construction issue was posted on their site before I booked without cancellation.

There might be better villas than the one I stayed in. I was in the first one by the entrance and it seems to take a beating in bad weather. The patio cushions were moldy with the rains. The pool was very small and muddy. The sheets and towels were badly stained but staff told me they were changing laundry service so hopefully this gets fixed. Toiletries can’t be left on the bathroom counter as it gets wet - the critters love that! The kitchen was not well stocked with pots and pans. The water filter unit looks like it needs to be cleaned.
