My Home Villa

Für uns war es die perfekte Unterkunft in Hikkaduwa. Die Lage war für uns genial. Die Villa liegt total ruhig und abseits der Straße und ist sehr sauber. Die Unterkunft im ersten Stock ist einfach nur top. Die Zimmer sind groß sehr sauber und schön eingerichtet und mit einem großen Balkon mit Blick in den wunderschön gepflegten Garten mit riesigen verschiedenen Pflanzen und Palmen inklusive kleinem Teich mit Fischen. Die Betten sind groß und sehr bequem. Die komplett ausgestattete Küche verfügt sogar über einen großen Kühlschrank, super bei der Hitze!!! Eine perfekt funktionierende Klimaanlage und die Sanitäranlagen, Möbel, Fön und festgeschraubter Safe sind alle sehr sauber und in einwandfreiem Zustand. WLAN funktioniert sehr gut. Der Strand war in ca. 20 Minuten gut zu Fuß erreichbar, das Zentrum mit dem Tuktuk. Die Besitzer Ruwan und seine Frau haben uns sehr lieb um uns gekümmert und sind uns Tag und Nacht mit Rat und Tat zur Seite gestanden. Das tägliche Frühstück war spitze!!!! Sie haben uns sogar für uns gekocht und wir durften mit ihnen zusammen essen und die Unterhaltungen und Gespräche mit der Gastgeberfamilie waren wunderbar. Ruwan hat sich sehr sehr viel Zeit für uns genommen und hat vieles organisiert wie zum Beispiel Massagen, Ausflüge, Flughafentransfer und vieles mehr. In der heutigen Zeit trifft man kaum noch auf so nette zuvorkommende und hilfsbereite Menschen wie Ruwan und Deepa... sie machen unsere Sri Lanka Reise unvergessen und waren das Highlight unserer Sri Lanka Reise. Vielen lieben Dank für die hervorragende großartige und liebevolle Gastfreundschaft. - wir kommen sehr sehr gerne wieder da wir uns wie zu Hause gefühlt haben. Der Abschied viel uns sehr schwer!!! Und noch eine kleine Info nebenbei: keine 30 Meter ist das kleine Restaurant Canal View, das eine hervorragende Küche hat!

The location of this stay is so wonderful! It feels like your own cute little place nestled inside the jungle. The garden is well maintained which makes it relaxing to walk through. It feels secluded but is still close to the city and the Canal View restaurant which is right next to the place, is highly regarded! The hosts are extremely accomodating, bringing us into their villa as we checked in early, and when I got injured, the host gave me some medicine, an icepack and ensured I was feeling better before I left. This place was very accommodating, we felt like family and didn’t want to leave!

This trip was a lot of fun thanks to the owner and his family. I went for surfing, but they also introduced me to a lot of other activities, so I really enjoyed it. Thank you very much.

It's a little far from the beach but you can get there easily and cheaply by tuk tuk.

Tranquil & private. The villa was beautiful & the family was so kind & welcoming. The location was ideal, walking distance to the Main Street.

A really spacious cool, light and bright absolutely immaculate apartment with everything you need. Very kind and helpful hosts- Ruwan picked us up from the station and was very attentive and always happy to help. A little out of town but very easy short tuk tuk ride in to beach and away from the busy main streets. Brilliant restaurant next door (canal view)

My Home Villa must be the best place in Hikkaduwa to stay. Ruwan — the owner of the Villa — and his family are very kind and attentive people who will make sure that all things are comfortable for you. We stayed at the villa for 2 weeks. Both of us working remotely, so 24/7 electricity and good wi-fi was a must. The villa has its own generator that is enough for couple of hours when the electricity is off. So no problem with that. The place is big, it has its own balcony (we didn’t enjoy it that much, but only due to veeery hot weather). In the evenings or rainy days the balcony is very comfortable place to be at. The kitchen is okay. It is not big, but has all the necessities. The villa has a private entrance that goes through Ruwan’s house, so you can be sure that all your stuff is safe and don’t worry about it. The villa is relatively far from the beach, but there are infinite amount of tuk-tuks (local taxis) near, so you can take it and get to the beach in 5-6 min. We liked to go on foot, it usually took us about 15-20 min. Next to the villa there is a restaurant called Canal View. It is literally 10 meters away from the villa’s entrance. It is run by local family and they make veeeery delicious local food. I could swear it was the tastiest thing we ate in Sri Lanka. We liked to have dinners there, since it is less than a minute from the villa. This villa is pretty expensive for Hikkaduwa. There are much more cheaper variants, but the value for money is 10/10. As two working people who spend at the villa most of the day we had almost no problems, there is an A/C, hot water, all the dishes, it’s own generator and pretty good wi-fi. Strongly recommend it.

I think, absence of the washing machine is the only imperfection. But Ruwan said that we could ask them to take our clothes to the laundry. Not that comfortable as your own washing machine, but still an option Sometimes in the evenings wi-fi worked poorly, but I guess it was because of many people were connected to one network or something
