Villa Pantelis

Amazing villa, beautiful scenery, great pool and the hosts Tassos, Maria & Maria were so hospitable and made you feel like family! The villa is in the mountains in a small rural village and so lovely to wake up to the sound of cockerels in the morning and frogs at night.

There is nothing you couldn’t like! you have the best of both worlds you have an entire villa all to yourself with everything you could need and a beach and bigger town only a 25 minute drive away!

THE BEST STAY!!! It was great to be in amongst the locals who were very friendly and welcoming. Tassos and Maria were absolutely amazing hosts who went out of their way to help us with absolutely anything. Maria did an amazing job of keeping the villa clean (every 3/4 days). We also had a fantastic welcome gift of wine, olive oil, honey, rusks, raki and cheese. Tassos invited us to a walk with the locals and a Greek archeologist around the local area where we discovered some very interesting sights we would never have known about. The ancient archaeology is amazing in this area. He took the time to translate all the information, provided drinks and snacks throughout the day and did a great job of looking after us, especially our 7 year old daughter! A fantastic day ended with a Cretan meal of spaghetti and lamb in the town hall...delicious. Once again the locals were brilliant and so welcoming. Tassos also arranged a bbq at the villa.....they were amazing. They provided all the food and drinks, cooked it and wouldn't allow us to help with anything, even the clearing up! A wonderful evening spent with Tassos, Maria and family and friends. Don't believe any previous reviews that say the villa isn't private - it is absolutely private and we enjoyed many an evening on the numerous wonderful balconies with a view of the whole village and hills. The pool is just perfect and everything is kept very clean. The town has a few lovely food places and the main town of Rethymno isn't too far away - we enjoyed a drive out in the evenings or to go to the beach but welcomed coming back to the peaceful villa. We also loved the local food and veg van that stopped outside on a Thursday where we purchased amazing fruit. On this note, the villa itself has loads of beautiful fruit trees...the grapes were amazing and a constant supply of tomatoes for salads. Loved the hammock amongst the fruit paradise! I honestly can't say enough about the hosts and villa!
