Villa Kamares Private pool

Our stay at Villa Kamares was very pleasant. Lena the agent was very helpful during our stay.the spacious air conditioned villa was enhanced by the private pool which was a haven during the hot weather.Being close to the old road and the many beach side restaurants was an added plus. We would not hesitate to go back when planning another break in Crete. Perhaps more detailed directions to the property would be helpful.

The best of this accommodation - the owners - you feel like you are visiting some good old friends. They are amazing, supporting whenever you need. Location - great and quiet, easy to go by car to the busy part where you have the taverns. Accommodation - very clean, and you have all the privacy you need for a relaxing holiday Pool - great

Beautiful quiet villa that was well equipped. Hosts were very much on hand if needed but not at all imposing. Excellent welcome package with a fantastic cake, wine and water. Service the villa was outstanding with fresh towels and linen everything 3 days.

Very minor improvements but it would be useful if a pool net was at hand and a few extra coat hangers would be handy.

We had an amazing stay at Villa Kamares, the pool was such a lovely feature and was so relaxing on a hot day! The interior of the property was well equipped with everything you should need during your stay, and Lina the host was amazing and extremely welcoming, offering us helpful advice on the area and even providing us with some welcome treats on arrival! Would definitely recommend for any couple wanting to escape for a few days!

Just back from a marvellous two week stay at the Villa Kamares. The hostess, Lina, was the loveliest person with nothing being too much trouble. When we checked in, she baked us a most delicious cheese and spinach pie, Spanakopita I think, and there was wine in the fridge to wash it down with along with many essentials. Lina also made us delicious cakes halfway through our stay and surprised us with a wrapped gift on our last day. She couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. She doesn’t intrude but you know she is there if you need her, perfect. The villa has the most relaxed, calming vibe about it and has a lovely lay out. The kitchen area has all you’d need if you wanted to do the full self-catering thing but, to be honest, we only ate breakfast in the villa as there is a reasonable selection of Tavernas and bars within a relatively short walk. The impressive, high arches that form the main structure of the villa are beautiful and the thick walls keep the Cretan heat out although we did run the air conditioning at night. This villa is much more impressive and spacious than the pictures suggest. The pool area was very pleasant with a nice table and chairs in a shady spot for breakfast and a couple of comfortable sun loungers, under a generous parasol, to while away the hours. The pool was deep enough to swim easily in and was spotless and cleaned very regularly. The bathroom was great with a huge shower featuring a four-way Spa shower and plenty of room. Toiletries were also provided. The bed was large and comfortable and the lace curtains hanging from the frame meant you could have a cosy space within the, effectively, one room villa. The villa does have its own parking space but the access is a little tight so I wouldn’t recommend hiring a large car. Our little Hyundai I10 was fine. Like I said, Lina was the perfect host and I couldn’t recommend Villa Kamares highly enough for a really romantic, relaxing holiday.

We loved the location it was near to the sea but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.

A few small things, some more coat hangers in the wardrobe and a fitted bed sheet.

Everything was fabulous, just as we were expecting. Lina was very attentive and made some lovely dishes for us too. Would definitely go back :)

The history of the building (500yrs old) beautifully restored, with an excellent modern bathroom. Also having our own private pool and parking!!

The lack of a room safe wasn't a problem as the area was very safe, but it would have been nice to have one for peace of mind when out for the whole day. Perhaps some extra clothes hangers would allow for better use of the wardrobe.

The location is great for having a relaxing trip. Restaurants and supermarkets are 5mins driving distance. Parking space is easy to find. You can find all the things you need close to this villa in few minutes driving or 15min walking. It is easy to travel to different towns and cities because the highway is also just about 5mins driving distance. You also can find bus stops nearby. The villa is super clean, comfortable, peaceful, and beautiful. The house can keep the warm outside, so you will feel very comfortable even in a very hot day. The villa is equipped with all the things we need. The washing capsules/shampoo/soap are provided so it is very convenient. The kitchen appliances are all provided so it is very easy to cook simple food if you don't want to go outside to eat. The private pool is excellent. Water is clean.I learned how to swim in this pool during this trip so I love it. The hosts are great people. They are very friendly and caring. Lina also made us very nice cakes and spinach rolls. We hope the little boy can get better soon :) We spent very nice and relaxing time here and for sure we will come back again :)

Quiet location. Garden less green than in photo due to loss of banana tree in winter storms but owners have added fencing to increase privacy. Hostess Lena was so friendly and welcoming with delicious home-baked savoury pastries , moussaka and cake! The broken parasol was replaced straight away. There are several restaurants with in 20 minutes walk and a lively busier town 10min drive away. The bus stop for coach pick up is 11 mins walk ( for the beautiful Samaria Gorge...hard trek!)

The closest beach is pebbles and the first week we were there, windy conditions made the sea unsafe for swimming( red flags out) but we just drove around the coast to sandy beaches and calmer seas for snorkeling. No TV or microwave, but to be honest we missed neither! The joined sunbeds and canopy is quaint, but would suggest separate sunbeds that can be moved into the sun or shade as required.
