Villa del Sogno

Maison de vacances calme et pratique. Très agréable et bien équipée. Hôte prévenant et très gentil. Superbe vue sur la mer et belles plantations très bien entretenues.

The views from the large patio of this comfortable villa are stunning especially at sunset. The villa was clean, comfortably furnished and well equipped. There is a short steep walk down to the beach which is shared with the other villas and a hotel on the same gated complex. To find the gated complex entrance look for Parco Bordila sign at the end of the long white wall. The owner was friendly and we were met on arrival and shown around the villa. Short drive to Tropea where there are lots of restaurants. The villa was a good base for exploring the area by car and we had a good stay with friends.

When we were there we found the waves made swimming from the beach tricky but it was pretty much the same on all the local beaches possibly due to time of year. You do need a car if you are staying here.

The villa is situated in a private area with houses that have a similar architecture. The house is big and clean. The patio is spacious with a beautiful view on the sea side and breath taking sunsets every evening. Behind the house there are green mountains so this gives us a 360 degree nice view. The house is well equipped, beds and pillows are comfortable.the furniture is nice. The whole area of the house is extremely beautiful, clean and well-kept. The variety of flowers and plants made me feel as if I was in a tropical country. The walk to the private beach is pleasant and short (5 mins). The beach itself is clean, with transparent, warm water and colorful fishes. As I chose the 2nd week of June the beach was nearly empty. Every person I crossed was nice and polite. The owners were also very polite and happy to help with anything. We ate out almost every day and we were always happy with the quality of the food in this part of Italy! I would definitely recommend this house and come back but for a longer period :) This was a dream place!

These are only small details that did not influence the great experience of my holidays. There was not always hot water in the middle bathroom. The toilet in the same bathroom did not always splash well so we had to use a bucket filled with water. Small things such as sugar/salt should be bought by guests as these are not provided. The house is situated near a road. Cars and motors pass by often so they can be heard quite easily even though after a few days I did get used to this sound. It is impossible to walk outside the area of the villa to any restaurant/small city so a car is an absolute must. When booking a car read well the payment conditions. If you opt for a car with an insurance the majority of companies will only accept a CREDIT card (and not a DEBIT card used by Europeans). I would recommend water shoes for the beach as there are rocks in some parts of the sea. To be quite picky I'd say there were some minor plastic parts in the sea as well as in the sand. Its a pity they were not cleaned by the management of this private beach. Otherwise, it was not too bad- it was the cleanest beach I've ever seen in Italy.

The host was really nice and attentive. The house outstanded our expectations and the private beach was really pleasant addition. Really comfortable place in good localisation. Definitely we would come here again!

In October there were a lot of insects (mosquitos or tiny flies we’re not sure) that bit us a lot. The house is not new and would need some renovation to be without a flaw but it wasn’t that much of an issue.

Tremendous location and property. Helpful owners. Beach just a short easy walk away. Watching sunset over Stromboli was a highlight.

Few restaurants open nearby when we were there...but that's the season.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful location and view, and close to Tropea.

Hot water is enough for one - two people if no water has been used throughout the day. Mattresses were very hard.

Very comfortable loctaion, nearby Prghelia and beautiful Tropea. Home is well equiped, comfortable and clean. Beautiful view on see and very close to local beach.
