Είχαμε μια πολύ ευχάριστη διαμονή στο κατάλυμα και μείναμε απόλυτα ικανοποιημένοι με την επιλογή μας. Η τοποθεσία είναι ήσυχη, ιδανική για χαλάρωση, αλλά ταυτόχρονα βρίσκεται σε βολική απόσταση με το αυτοκίνητο από σημεία ενδιαφέροντος. Είναι επίσης σε καλή θέση — κοντά στην πόλη του Ρεθύμνου, αλλά και αρκετά κοντά στη νότια πλευρά του νησιού, κάτι που μας επέτρεψε να εξερευνήσουμε διαφορετικά μέρη. Το επισκεφθήκαμε στα τέλη Σεπτεμβρίου, και δυστυχώς λόγω καιρού δεν καταφέραμε να αξιοποιήσουμε την πισίνα, όμως συνολικά η εμπειρία μας ήταν πολύ θετική!

We had a fantastic stay at Eligia Villas! Our family of four spent a few days there with friends and loved it. The villa is spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with a great pool and plenty of room to relax. The setting is peaceful with beautiful views, yet close enough to explore nearby villages and beaches. Perfect for families or groups of friends – highly recommended!

Eligia Villas is a charming twin-house property tucked away in the sun-kissed southwest of Crete. Run by a warm, family-oriented team of owners, guest is welcomed with genuine hospitality and local tips for exploring nearby beaches and villages. The two houses share a pristine, private swimming pool - perfect for leisurely laps or cooling off under the Mediterranean sun without ever feeling crowded. Small garden surrounding the villas creates a peaceful oasis for reading, napping or enjoying an evening glass of Cretan wine. Whether you are here to hike rugged gorges, lounge by the pool or simply unwind among olive groves, Eligia Villas makes an ideal base for rest, recreation and authentic island adventures.

Wonderful location surrounded by olive groves and mountains, with a lovely pool. The two villas have been thoughtfully designed to give privacy to each villa, and are set in spacious grounds. The views from the house are beautiful. It takes just 15 minutes by car to reach Rethymnon, or to reach Plakias and some of the south coast beaches. The village has an excellent bakery with attached supermarket and fresh fruit and vegetables and an excellent taverna. Spili, with cash machine(s), supermarkets, tavernas and cafes is just a few minutes drive away. The house is comfortable and spacious and has dishwasher and washing machine and lots of hot water. The WiFi is good. If you like cheese, there’s the added bonus of an excellent shop selling locally made cheese just a few paces from the house.

This is the perfect place to explore the Rethymno region. In less than 30 min drive you can reach to the Rethymno old town and a dozen of nice beaches on Libyan sea, We liked most Plakias beach as it is perfect for children. If you are in a good fit, I'd recommend Sandhill as well. The famous Preveli is nice but it could get very crowdy and the path down and up may be a challenge for younger children. The villa is very cozy and was a perfect fit for our family - a parents bedroom on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms for our 3 children on the upper floor. The kitchenette was more than OK for our group. We enjoyed also the garden, the pool and the BBQ. The communication with Lena was great. She was very polite and answered all our questions promptly.

A few days were very windy but we were able to find calmer places at a bit longer distance. Looking at the wind forecast is recommended.
