Far-Island Villa

Good location for Papagayo beaches. Also not far from the promenade to walk into the centre. Good supermarket and cafés and restaurants nearby. Pool is relaxing and refreshing and wasn’t too cold even in January. Owners are all very friendly and helpful, checking in to make sure everything is ok.

The chairs being dragged around by the people above can be annoying, better to put something on the bottom of the chairs so they don’t make so much noise. The pool was slightly dirty when we arrived so didn’t use it until a few days later after it was cleaned. A plant outside would make the pool area even nicer.

Raul and his family were so kind and generous. Lots of nice treats left for us and any problems were dealt with immediately. The villa was well equipped and comfortable with everything you need for a self catering holiday. We were delighted to find that we had English t.v, great for those nights in. The swimming pool was warm and comfortable enough to enjoy a nice swim. If you haven’t got your own transport the villa is about a 10 minute walk to the bus stop or the supermarket and restaurants(we recommend Alfie’s open at the weekend). There are lots of quiet interconnecting walkways to take you there. We had a very enjoyable two weeks stay at Far Island villa

Some comfortable outdoor seating would be great.

The pool and outdoor area was the nicest. Host was very helpful. Pool man come to service pool every 3 days and cleaner once a week.

Be careful when booking as can be misleading on the ad. There’s 2 apartments, one with the pool and one with the jacuzzi

The unit was clean, well decorated and furnished, and had a well equipped kitchen. The cold plunge pool was clean and ideal for hot days. The location was in a quiet area away from any hustle and bustle, although there was some noise from local building works at the time. Really easy access to the National Park and Papapayo beaches by the bumpy dirt track (car).

The advert on Booking.Com was misleading and so we were very disappointed to arrive to the downstairs unit only. The pictures and description given did not make it clear that these are 2 separate units. I purposely booked accommodation that I thought would have an outside space with a view, as we like to have sundowners and some meals outside at our accommodation. The photos showed an outside space with views, but this was not what we had. We had the downstairs half of the villa which , although it had the pool, it only had a high walled enclosed bit of space around one side of the pool- with no view! It was not what we thought we had booked. The site needs to make it clear, and separate the photos and give a description for the 2 separate parts of the villa, as it is portrayed as 1. The downstairs part, which we had, also had only 1 window and door to the front- which meant that not only did the bedrooms have no natural light, it was hard to get any airflow. We were hot at night and it was only November- in the summer it might be unbearable and you would be reliant on the aircon which is situated in the lounge. If the advert wasn't do deceptive- it would be fine.

Clean, tidy, and comfortable. Raul answered all questions promptly. Generally, you will need a car, but that will be offset by taxi costs to and from the airport. The beaches in the nature reserve are amazing and close to the villa.

Having to go home.

Clean, spacious and well equipped villa. Easy communication with Raul and Mariana. They were available at any time. I will definitely recommend it.

It is a bit remote from centre of Playa Blanca. Renting a car is advisable.

Excellent spacious accommodation, large bedrooms, good sized kitchen with excellent cooking facilities and plenty of utensils, which is unusual. TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime if you want it. Outside private heated pool was a bonus. Very secure and private with high walls surrounding the property. A quiet location, which is expanding so that my change a little. Easy access to supermarket and only a short drive to the beaches and the main town. Information supplied by Raul to enhance your stay was first class. Well worth a second visit.

The safe could be fixed to a wall for added security. As it was a ground floor villa there were no views. Everything else was faultless.

Everything was good. Welcome pack to have breakfast everyday. Owner was very helpful and easy to contact. There are some good off road walks to 4 beaches and an excellent coastal walk into playa Blanca .

It is a little way out of playa Blanca . However there is a center nearby with a few restaurants and a supermarket.
