Villa Aurora

Stunning location. Seeing the bay and Mt Vesuvius all the time was amazing. Easy to get to other locations by train - property is on a hill so coming back up takes a bit longer. Pool area was fantastic. Plenty of shade too. All the rooms were a great size, SO clean and comfortable. Air con in all bedrooms. Kitchen had everything we needed. Host could not have been more helpful for weeks beforehand with trip suggestions and arranging airport pick up and restaurant suggestions. Super close to a fabulous deli and restaurant and a mini supermarket.

Hard to find something…the only suggestion we could come up with was perhaps some ceiling fans in the dining room/lounge downstairs. When there is no breeze it got a little warm but that was minor.

Our hostess Donatella was delightful, gracious and helpful in every way possible. She arranged a chef’s dinner served on the beautiful veranda, which overlooks the sea and Mount Vesuvius. The dinner was most delicious and a perfect last family evening at Villa Aurora. We really enjoyed the large, well-maintained pool every afternoon to cool off and enjoy time together.

Our host , Donatella, was exceptional! The villa was a lovingly maintained family home which suited our group of 7 adults and 3 children perfectly. Donatella provided assistance to book tour guides, local restaurants, transport and assisted us with everything we needed including help with a child’s medical emergency. The village was lovely - restaurants, a local deli/ supermarket, access to a beach, train a few minutes walk away to travel to Pompeii and other places on the Amalfi Coast. The villa had the space we needed, was in a tranquil setting including a large pool and we are already planning our return trip.

There is nothing to improve on - it was fantastic

Donatella was there to meet us, explain the family history of the villa and show us round. Great views of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples. She helped organise drivers, restaurant, chef dinner etc Pool area lovely.

The original bathrooms are very quaint but perhaps shower units need upgrading to larger space - whilst still retaining the lovely original features! Provide enough sun beds for adults in villa.

It is on a steep hill and although we could walk up it, some people may struggle

Donatello is an excellent host! She organised groceries and a wine tasting evening which was amazing. The location of the villa was perfect for us and the pool area was superb - especially as we had young children with us. We walked down the path to the harbour a few times which only took 15 minutes and found lots of lovely bars and restaurants and every day we did the short walk to the deli for food&drink. Donatello or Francesco the taxi driver were always available to sort out any issues and spoke excellent English. We had a magical holiday and would love to return.

The only thing we really missed was air con! There were fans in every room but it was still incredibly hot, especially at night.
