The house was very nice, and well furnished. Also the owner, Jill, was welcoming. It was also handily near the airport for our last day before flying out

The access was TERRIBLE! The road there was a hazardous steep hill, and on turning into the drive (also very steep), the car skidded and wouldn't climb until Jill told us to turn off the aircon. I can't recall reading that in the advert! Another was that althought the bedrooms were great, and the aircon worked well in both, downstairs was like a greenhouse, and unbearably hot. I would definitely advise Jill to install an airconditioning unit downstairs to cool the kitchen and living room

We were very disappointed with our stay. Based on the many positive reviews, we even extended our booking by one night due to a change in our flights. However, we ended up leaving after just one night. The house is located on a hill, and the road up is extremely steep. Even with a car, accessing the property and parking is quite difficult and not convenient at all. Cleanliness was also an issue, and the kitchen equipment was unacceptable. Pots and pans were heavily scratched, and the non-stick coating was damaged. We accepted this and planned to go out for dinner, but unfortunately there were no good options nearby. The biggest issue, however, was the noise. The constant barking of dogs throughout the night was unbearable. Our children could hardly sleep. While the airplane noise was at least predictable and eventually stopped, the barking continued all night. Our children wanted to leave as soon as possible, and honestly, there is no real need to stay so close to the airport on this island. For our second night, we moved to Beau Vallon and had a great end to our trip. From there, it only took us about 25 minutes to reach the airport, which was clearly the better choice. When we checked out, Jill said she understood our reasons for leaving, especially with children and the noise at night, but no refund was excepted for the unused night.
