Villa Pinelopi

The villa was amazing, beautiful, absolutely perfect. We even had an ocean view! We were on a nice quite road across the street from a potato field and behind us we had the mountains and olive trees. I loved waking up in the morning to the sound of the roosters, doves and little birdies. The pool was nice and refreshing. The kitchen had everything we needed for making our own meals. I was surprise how nice and cool the villa kept even with +27 degree weather. Each bedroom at AC, which wasn't really needed during our stay. The grounds were gorgeous. We had lemon trees with lemons! The outdoor eating areas were fantastic and the gorgeous bbq was a bonus. The villa is in a great location. We did morning walks into close by towns for shopping and coffee's. The beach was only a 10 min walk away and our 1 complementary breakfast down on the beach at the taverna was perfect. The use of the beach chairs and umbrella's down at the beach, which was included in our stay, was very much appreciated. Communicating with the property manager was very easy. He was quick to respond with our requests and questions. We even got a phone call when the villa was ready and we were able to check in early. That was a nice surprise.

The beds were not the most comfortable, they were a little on the firm side. I wish our pool side beds had more shade around them, with either more umbrellas or drapes around the day beds that can close for shade.

Everything about the house was brilliant, and a great outdoor space as well. The hosts were also fantastic - nice welcome drinks when we arrived and never too much trouble to help on anything we asked. Also great that their bar is at the end of the road on a beautiful beach.

Nothing

We liked the semi-rural location of the house, next to fields, olive groves and sheep. It was beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Between the mountains and the sea. A 10 minutes walk to the beach and beach bars, and similar to a good supermarket in Kavros. It was a quiet location. 40 minutes walk to Georgioupoli, we hired bikes for ease. The check in and service was seamless and helpful, and the property was cleaned every three days. And it was generally very clean. The villa and grounds were large and had almost everything we needed. We were met with fruit, wine, vegetables, bread, which was very welcome.

The villa is 100m up an unmade road, we got 2 bicycle punctures and local taxis wouldn't drive up. It would be a problem for the less mobile/pushchairs. The huge upper balcony with stunning mountain views desperately needs movable, light loungers and parasols as it was mostly too hot to use, which was sad. Movable loungers would also be good in the garden. Initially the tiny kettle packed up, although they very quickly replaced it with a better one. Also, tiny toaster... Proper showers needed, and a full refresh of the shabby bathrooms too. But not a deal breaker. Finally, the villa boasts having bicycles but these are not fit fot purpose! Should be replaced please!

Great villa and pool area, the villa owner was really helpful and available on WhatsApp to answer any queries about where to go etc The beach bar was great, lovely staff and plenty of shade for long lunches

Low water pressure on showers

The villa itself was stunning and exactly as the pictures showed it, in fact better. Lovely and spacious, with plenty of room for us all, and very well equipped with everything you might need. Its location was just right - close enough to the beach (a 9-minute walk), shops, tavernas etc but out of the way enough for peace and quiet. It was situated up a track off the main road which meant there was hardly any passing traffic so we had privacy . The owner was there to greet us when we arrived, and was extremely friendly and helpful, and when we needed anything from him we just messaged or called him and he was there within minutes to assist. Overall we couldn't fault it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

There was nothing major that we didn't like, but the only thing I would recommend would be for the upstairs shower to have something fitted to the wall to hold the shower head, as we had to hold it. Not a huge issue though. If you don't mind walking then it's fine, but it is quite a walk into Kavros and the closest supermarket (probably 20 minutes), and a dusty uphill track to the villa, so if you are less mobile it would be advisable to rent a car. Also, the piano needs a tune-up!

With having two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs the villa is excellent for a three generation holiday. The terrace upstairs is on all four sides and so is the garden so we were able to have quiet moments alone if we wanted but there was ample space for us all to get together for meals and games. The BBQ area is great and has shade and lighting for day time and evening meals. The village is quite small but is in walking distance and has several good places to eat, especially Pelagia's Yard. The beach taverna, also in walking distance, was great for lunches, but due to the time of year (October) wasn't open in the evening. We all had a fabulous time and have no hesitation in recommending a stay in this lovely villa.

The villa and pool area were very clean and tidy, and the location is great (beach, shops and restaurants nearby). The outdoor area generally is lovely. The villa owner/management company were extremely helpful in case of any issues or questions.

Some of the decor (bathrooms) is looking a bit tired, and we ate at the villa a lot but found there weren't many cooking dishes/utensils. Having said that, we had a lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
